In MS and AL? I have to admit that I have spent most of my time following the NO stories. I have heard/seen pictures of the areas in MS and AL that were beachside that have been destroyed but I haven't heard much about how others that are further inland faired. Did the severe damage extend inland? I have just read some reports about power being restored in some areas in MS and AL but I am going to have to pull out a map to see where they are located. Thanks for any update.

We received the bad tropical rainstorm and severe winds. Most of the businesses, all of the schools, and most of the daycares, etc. closed due to how intense the storm was. The wind was over 80 mph if I remember correctly. A lot of trees and limbs fell but in our area they were cleared out fast. So all in all, the northern part of MS really did not suffer. People did panic over gas though and we were out of gas in our town and the surrounding towns for a couple of days. We have quite a few shelters set up here that currently are housing those from coastal MS and AL and NO. But anyway, no not all of MS suffered, but yes, the southern portion was completely destroyed! Please keep all of these people in your prayers. I met a man from NO today who is now homeless. He and his wife are just thankful they are alive! It is refreshing that he had such a great outlook but it is heartbreaking to know they lost everything! And it really bothers me that I can't do more than I am already doing to help. I am trying to donate clothing and things like that. Sadly, I don't have the resources that are required to do more so I hope any of you that are able to help and donate to those that suffered will!
