I've noticed that over 3000 people have viewed the current thread on credit card debt, but there are only 98 replies. I'm wondering if more people would post if they could do so anonymously? Maybe, maybe not - but here goes...

I have zero cc debt but I wanted to write that there is no shame in having cc debt. The only shame is not paying it off.

right now, i owe $190 on my cc - and will pay it off next week when paid

i never carry a balance - always pay it off - cc company probably hates me

Yep, same for me. I owe something like $500 on all of my CCs combined, and they will all be paid off in March, when due.

A big fat ZERO for me!!! I hate to say never, but I truly hope there never comes a time where I have to carry a balance on any card. It would absolutely be the last resort if the need were to ever arise.

We pay ours off every month. Right now there is probably around $2000 on there but that's just because we charged our April Cruise and havent received this months bill to pay.

I have none at this time.

A long time ago when my ex and I bought our house and then ended up divorced we got into trouble with CCs and it took me a long time to get out from under it. (Notice I said me --- the lout left me with all the debt!)

I learned my lesson big time.

I'm certainly not saying anyone is lying - however the high concentration of 'no debt' people on The Dis never ceases to amaze me. :cloud9:

And I have no intention of answering. My debt - My business. However, knowing I'm on The Dis, I obviously will have zero. ;)

This is exactly what I would have said. Thank you for writing such a perfect answer!!! :goodvibes

Right now between all my cards I have about $2,000 but I also pay them all in full when the bill comes. I think it has been about four years since the last time I actually got an interest charge on any of my cards.

::yes::
it reminds me of the "how much did your engagement ring cost" thread. everyone was either >$100.00 or $50,000000000+.
gotta love the dis polls. ;)

There is no point in lying when if they truly did have credit card debt they could simply opt to not participate in the poll, so I don't see why it the current poll would be such a far stretch from the truth.

Well, as un-scientific as a DIS poll is, it shows a bit more balance in answers than the credit card thread - this seems to be roughly 50-50 so far.

I voted $5000-$10000 but if you would have asked this a year ago, I would have voted under $1000. I NEVER had cc debt before and always paid in full every month. Between our honeymoon (week in WDW followed by week on DCL) immediately followed by spending about $5000 unsuccessfully trying to save my cat's life, followed by new furniture, etc. It really pains me to be charged interest fees and I am paying about $1000 a month just so that's it's paid off as soon as possible!! It seems bad but I know I'm so good with money that I'm not too worried about it. :)

You are certainly implying that others are lying but you are actually wrong. The poll shows 50% and the is what the CC companys say is the number of people who pay off their cards each month.

No I'm not. I'm impressed! :thumbsup2

I consolidated all my credit onto one card 5 years ago and paid it off in full two months ago. I also carry a Disney Visa that gets up into the $2K area and then I concentrate on paying that off...right now I'm credit card debt free, believe it or not:laughing:

Don't ask about student loans and such though...

Maybe we should start a thread to see who has a maxed out HELOC (home equity line of credit) I own a Dealership and we pull credit all the time for customers needing financed. In most cases people with no CC or auto loans have a HELOC of $60-70K maxed out.

We live in a payment nation where a large % of people will buy anything if they think they can make the payment.

We also pull credit on people paying with a check (on a weekend) to find they have large dept but yet paying cash for a RV rather than paying off high % cards. Crazy but very true.

As for the OT. I use credit cards all the time and will run a card up to $30-40K in a month. Sometimes I pay them off every month and sometimes I can't. Life goes on. I owe millions in flooring but I can say that right now I'm CC debt free :rotfl2:
