Hi all. I was just rolling my change today and came up with a total of $268.00. I've only been saving since October so I didn't think that was too bad. I still have 3 weeks more to save too. Just wondering how much everyone else ends up with:)

We have a little over $100.00. I still have 124 more days, boo hoo hoo hoo.

Thanks to these boards, I decided to roll and surprised myself w/ $297!!!

My husband was especially surprised - he had guessed $60!!! :p

I find that those tiny little dimes really add up the quickest. ;)

Keep on rollin'!

At last count we had saved about $460 in change. My DH contributed most of that and he had been stashing it away for awhile so I'm not sure how long it took. But since our next trip isn't until March 2004 I can't wait to see how much we have by then.:D

After 11 months of rolling coins, I have $505.00. It would probably have been more but I switched to a rewards credit card in June and now I don't use cash for anything over $10 that I can charge.

We had been saving our change since we got married (15 years). We opened a bank account and every week or so we roll & add to the account.

We finally decided to use it to buy into DVC. Final total - $6500. :bounce: We figured this way we could enjoy our "efforts" each time we went to Disney instead of using it once & it being gone (we were originally saving for the cruise).

We've kept the account open & have started all over again now. I don't think everyone realizes how fast loose change can add up. It's bonus cash as far as I'm concerned! I love saving my change. :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Melsmice, that's wonderful. Good for you to save for so long. You're right, no one thinks change adds up like it does. When customers furiously dig for their change so they don't have to break another bill (where I work) I tell them, "Save it, you'd be surprised what it can add up to". My parents quit smoking years ago, but put the money they saved not buying cigarettes in an account. Within a couple of years they were able to buy a car with that money. It's free money they way I see it:)

My daughter and I have vacation account that we use for are change. One of the ways we try to collect more change over the year is, whenever we purchase or pay for something we will never
use change as part of the payment. If item comes to $1.04 we
will use dollar bills to pay, and save the change. You might be
surprise as to how much change you can collect in a weeks time.
That said, we end up with somewhere between $750 - $900 in
change every year.

I've been saving and rolling my change monthly since March. So far I have about 560.00. Although I own DVC, I have always wanted to do Poly Concierge. This is an inefficient use of points, so I will be treating myself to this for my 40th birthday with all the change I save between now and then (4 years). I'm figuring with an AP discount I might be able to get 5 nights in February at the rate I'm going.

We have been saving our change since Sept. WE already saved over $500. I don't know exactly, because we haven't counted recently. But we figure by the time we go, our change should pay for a good part of our admission if not all of it. :D

We've been saving our change and using it for WDW trips for about 6 years. Last year was the first time I kept track of what we saved, and the total for the year was $914.00. We were really pleased, but are determined to do even better this year!

We had a change challenge going on here for a few months last year, but it went by the wayside.

WOW!!! You guys are blowing me away. I was proud of myself until this. You guys are really good at this:)

You guys are good at this ... I've rolled $150 so far. I'm going to check some of my older purses, wallets and jackets that I don't use anymore. I thought of doing this after I found a $10 bill in one of my old winter jackets.

Wow!!! You guys are awesome! I have been throwing change in a cup very casually over the last few months, and a few extra bills here and there and I saved $175. I exchanged it all for Disney Dollars for my 2 kids the other day and that will be their spending money and then some. :Pinkbounc :bounce:

$688 so far!:earseek: Still dumping the metal into the upsidedown water-cooler bottle!*
We have until Sept. 27, 2003
*Except this month all the pennies go to my kid's school. They are collecting for the Pennies For Patients Program (leukemia and lymphoma).

I am totally totally totally in awe!!! I must not use cash enough. I do use my debit card quite a bit. We save *all* our change and even so in a year we get right at $100. Maybe I need to start using cash and quit using the debit card.

Of course I pull $20 each week for me and the kids. I homeschool and it seems some days you just need a break so we head out somewhere as a treat. Or we might be out and about doing various things and decide to eat lunch out (big treat in our house) Whatever money is left over at the end of the week goes into the Disney fund. Paper goes into an envelope and change goes into the cup. Actually we have two cups. One is for silver and the other for pennies. When we roll our pennies we roll them into "new pennies" and "pressed penny pennies" (pre-83 pennies have no zinc in them so they press more prettily)

Good going and you've inspired me to use more cash!

:earsgirl:
