How much Cash?

How much cash do you guys normally take for the cruise? I know most of the stuff on the ship can just be put on a card. If one doesnt go on a shopping spree on the islands how much would you recommend?

We bring $50 in singles to use for tips for room service. Also will need tip money for baggage handlers at the port. You can charge your tips for your servers and room steward, or give cash. I always feel better with some cash in my pocket, not just plastic.

We brought 400$ cash, and like the previous poster, about 50$ of it was in ones and twos for room service, and smaller bills for tips of porters and such. Also if you do small shopping on the islands, I find it easier with small bills.

oh good I was think about $350 in cash. $50 for tips and parking fees / big tips outside of that.

I brought $700 in cash, plus $1000 in travelers checks.
Flying cross country, I had to allow money for 2 meals each way for 4 people.......plus breakfast the morning of the cruise......and airport and hotel meals aren't cheap.........that was $150 of my cash gone. Tips on board I did in cash, about $250............parking at the airport at home was $100 for 8 days..........blew another $100 in cash in St. Martin and St Thomas, so came home with $100 in cash, and never touched the travelers checks.
Only thing we used the credit card for was excusions and beveraged on board, and that ran $1100.

In addition to tip money for the CMs (waiter , asst waiter, head waiter, stateroom host) I bring

- $30.00 in singles for room service
- $70.00 for parking at terminal
- $400 total for port spending money. This would include any non-DCL booked excursions
- $20.00 for luggage handlers at the terminal
- $5.00 Castaway Cay post office

We pre-packed our tip $, brough $50 for extra tips, etc. Other than that we only used cash for a postcard and a stamp at CC. I put every cent I can on my Disney VISA to earn the dollars to pay for the next trip..
