I know DCL is virtually cash free, just use the "Card" but I think we will still need money and/or travelers checks, for on shoar.
How much cash should our DF bring with us?

Thanks!!

How long are you going for? We went on the 3 day and only brough 100.00 cash in 5's and 1's for tipping room service and such. We bought a few items on Nassau but not many. I think most of the places took credit cards and they had an ATM, even thought I didn't feel comfortable using it.

We're going on a 7 day cruise. I was thinking around 300.00
Too much? Too Little?

Thanks

Kim

If you are bringing traveler's checks you can get them cashed at Guest Services. Would cut down on the amount of cash you would be carrying.princess:

That's a great idea!! I didn't know I could do that. I would really hate to be carrying around that kind of money. I know DCL has a safe in the room, but I understand from reading other threads that they don't always work.

I take virtually no cash on any vacation; just enough for tips. Travelers checks are good (and safe) for any other needs. They can be cashed as someone pointed out. I prefer to use a credit card for most of my spending with money in my savings to pay the bill off when it comes. (I hate paying interest)

According to my packing list, we take:

1 - $100 Bill for Parking (credit cards really slow down the line)
2 - $20 Bills for Baggage Tips (On/Off)
30 - $1 Bills for Room Service Tips ($2-$4 each)
