Hi,

Me and my friend are going to disney for the first time. We have done the hotel, train and car bookings. Apart from that, how much cash would you recommend us for a 3 day trip. I guess i have to pay $10 cash for parking in disney. What are the other costs that need cash?

Thanks

I'm so excited to go to disney !! :Pinkbounc :cool1:

Hi AM,

I assume from your comments that you will not be staying on site. If you stay at a WDW hotel you can charge almost everything in the parks to your room. If not, well...you should have a lot of cash! You didn't say if you have park passes, so that alone will be big bucks. Also anything you want to eat and drink of course, and souveniers or whatever else you might want to buy.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I will be staying in a motel in Kissimmee. I've also booked all the park tickets online.

I think $50 in cash should be enough.

50 Dollars cash? For all three days?

How many people are going to be with you? Just you and your one friend?

Let's assume that it's just the two of you. You said you have your park tickets and lodging allready, so aside from that let's look at the cost of one day.

Parking: $10.00
Lunch for Two (counter service): $20.00
Dinner for Two (table service): $40.00
Souveniers, Film, Activities, Misc: $25.00+
TOTAL: $95.00+

That's a pretty moderate priced budget for one day. Fifty bucks might not cover it.

wow. I didn't realize i would have to take so much cash. Thanks a ton for the advice !

I even think $95.00 a day is conservative. There are alot of things that are going to come up. You have to fill the rental car with gas before you bring it back. You have to tip the housekeeper in the hotel. You're going to want a snack here and there, right? A soda alone in the park is over $2.00. I'm just thinking that you may want to really rethink how much you are bringing. You want to have a good time - I'd hate to see it ruined for you because you didn't plan for enough cash.

Yep, I would take at least $100 a day At the very least! It also depends on how many snacks and souvenirs you wish to purchase. But hey, you will have a great time! :flower:

Take enough cash to pay for parking, and use your debit card for the rest...

Do people even CARRY cash anymore??? :confused3 I haven't for years!!!

i plan on taking 500-600 bucks cash. plus my credit card. we are staying at a disney resort.

My wife and I bring $1,000 per week -- but we end up charging a lot of things, and only using the cash for tips, parking, gas, counter service, and various sundries. But you'd be amazed how quickly it can add up!

Disney has a LOT of creative ways to make you part with your money ;)

$50.00???????

WOW!
You should plan on $100.00 per day, then if you have some left when you get home you can develop film with it.

That's hard to answer. It depends on what you mean by "cash."

If you mean how much do you need for things that you cannot use a debt/credit card for, I'd say not much cash at all. DH and I took $100 in cash for a 6 night stay and had $20 left over at the end. But we charged everything we could (food, souveniers, etc.)

If you simply mean how much money do you need for expenses over and above room and tickets, I'd say a budget of $100 per day for two adults is very do-able (we did it). That should get you counter service lunch and a mid-range sit down dinner plus a few souveniers.

If you have a credit card, than just enough to pay for parking, you can charge pretty much everything else. W/O a credit card LOTS. We actually only used $15 cash - dollar bills - the whole time we were there for our 10 days, but we stayed on site and had the dining plan and everything paid for in advance and Disney Dollars through the Disney Visa Card to spend.
