How much can you really do in a morning at the parks. We plan to arrive at rope drop and leave after lunch for a nap at POP then arrive back for dinner ADRs? The girls will be 19 months and 3 1/2 when we go at the end of April. We don't want to be commando, but would like to see/do as much as we can. We are spending a day each at AK, DS, Epcot and 2 days at MK.

TIA

it depends on the parks, how busy it is and what you want to do.

we always do a mod day break. at animal kingdom we can be done by the time we want to leave for lunch, and we dont go back.
this past trip we were at rope drop at MK and did every single thing on our list and a few more by 3. we actually had no real reason to go back.
epcot we were able to get soarin, living with the land, mission and test track done fairly early, but we didnt leave, theres just too much to see there. had we left we wouldnt have been able to do everything.
HS we did toy story, tower of terror, rocking roller coaster, muppets, star tours and some character thigs, we also collected fast passes for all those rides, left and came back that night and rode them all again.

We went last Jan with ds he was 2 and we went back for naps everyday. We got a lot done as long as we were at rope drop. I found it easier to do a sit down lunch than a sit down dinner. After his nap we were able to go back to the park (MK) and hit the rides by grabbing a quick bite in between rides at a counter service restaurant. We got a lot more done that way. For our next trip we now have a new DD who will be 9 months when we go. So things will definitely be different now that we have two:)

A couple of things can make a huge difference in how much you can see.

1. Be at the gate at opening. If you are the first ones in, you will just see so much more.

2. If you are not staying onsite or planning to do extra magic hours, find out when they are and do that park the next day. In other words if MK has morning extra magic hours on Wednesday. Then be at the opening Thursday morning....because most resort guests will have been there the day before for the extra hours.

3. Bring snacks with you. That way you don't have to stop to wait in line ...can recharge the little munchkins as you keep moving.

Have an awesome time!

If you're like my family not too much, but we have five children in our family.

If my math is right...you are going late spring. It's busy then. You'll need at LEAST two days at MK (we always do at least 3 because DD likes to ride some things multiple times). DHS is impossible to do in one day if you actually want to see the shows. If you want to just ride the rides, you might be able to finish it. At your kiddos ages, there won't be a TON of interest yet in Epcot so you should be able to do the things are are age appropriate in one day.

I will say (again!) that Disney is massive. We have been TONS of times. We just got back from a 9 day trip...we still haven't seen/done everything. It can't be done. So make a list of must dos...leave time for travel and naps and swimming. Also factor in meals (they take much longer than at home) and be realistic that it's impossible to get it all in. One point to factor in. You should always budget an hour for traveling time around the park. So if you want to be at MK for 8am, you will definately need to be at the POP bus stop by 7am. A lot of newbies don't realize this.

We almost always leave the park by 1:30 for naps, but you have to get there early! I do enjoy the opening outside the park (plan on doing that one day and being at the rope the other day). Also, get your strollers and go potty as soon as you get there (don't wait until it opens).

Be deliberate about fast passes and enjoy yourself - whatever you don't get to will probably be there on the next visit.

Have a great time!

We got in almost everything we wanted to do by 2pm with our 5 kids - however, I'm a nutcase, and we are moving, moving, moving, with a solid itinerary (rented my dad a ECV so he could keep up). We always had DH or myself running for fastpasses as soon as eligible, we had a stroller rented for our stay so the little ones could ride, and we were there way before rope drop.
