How much are we looking at to have a disney wedding?

We were looking at the disney wedding site and from what we understand we are looking at around $6,000 for an escape wedding (sun-Thurs). We are confused what we get for the price. It seems we get the actual ceremony, cake, and toast. It mentions a violinist and limo. Is that included or is it extra?? It mentions we get 2 hours of photography. Do we get the rights to all the pix or do we get a limited choice then pay for whatever extra pics we want? Also, with the basic package, how much time do we get after the nuptials? How long will the whole wedding be? I'm sure meals are not included. Do we also have to have a venue catered by disney? Will disney block off space at a restaurant of our choice for a post wedding dinner? Also does time of year affect the minimum price? So besides the base price of around $6,000 , are there any other minimums we have to spend? Sorry, just having a hard time finding any source online with this info.

Try getting Carrie's passporter book for more information, the violinist and limo are included in that price, and you're right food isn't included.

I'm not completely sure because I'm having a wishes wedding, but I think you need to organise your own ceremony/dinner if you want one. If there's a private room at the restaurant you want to eat at you can do so, but I think you need to meet F&B minimums.

Seriously, get Carrie's book. It's chock full of info!

I'll try to answer by what I've been told...

*You get the set number of photos for the two hours
*For the Escape, the entire ceremony & cake cutting is about an hour.
*You are responsible for your own dinner plans (this might have changed due to the new wedding minimums, Disney might help with larger receptions but not just dinner.)
*Unless you are having the weekend wedding, there is no minimum, just the flat charge.
*Overall the time of year doesn't matter. Weekends now have a minimum except for special days. like 10-10-10 or holidays, then there are massive increases to the charges.

Just has a heads up - you are also responsible for the minister fees (most are around $250 US). If you use one of the Disney approved, he or she doesn't count towards your guest minimums...if you use a friend/family member, they count as a guest.

I second getting Carrie's ( lurkeyloo) book. It will answer most of your questions, and a few you didn't even know you had.

You also get floral for the bride and groom in the package as well.

I did want to clarify some things on the dinner/reception question. If you want to have a meal at at any of disney's private rooms- the attic, a conference room etc. your planner would help you book it, provide menus etc. If you decide to have a meal at a restaraunt for your guests then it is up to youto coordinate it. Your planner might help with little things- like a phonenumber and who to contact, or letting you know if your first choice restaraunt will be under construction but that is about it. The planning is then between you and the restaraunt.

As far as minimums- each private room will have its own F&B minimums based on the meal you want ( Breakfast, lunch or dinner) and the restaraunts usually have those also and some also have a room rental fee. Again, F&B minimums are listed in Carrie's book ina very handy spreadsheet!

At least those were the rules for us, and we married in January. Carrie's book will have the most up to date info though!

If you want to add a private event following your wedding no matter what day of the week you have to meet an additional $1500-2500 minimum required by DFTWs. It's a new thing they have added to their contracts recently. So in total you would have to spend $7500 but that includes the Escape package price.

If it was a weekend Escape you would be required to spend the $7500, it's optional on weekdays.

If you want to have your dinner at a restaurant, book it through them directly and you avoid the additional money.
