I have been looking into buying some DVC points through resale.
What fees will I incur in addition to the per point price.

Are closing costs normally a few dollars a point? Is there any structure to this? 100 points closing is $3 per point. 150 points closing is $2.75 per point etc . . . ??????

Example: 100 points at $72 per point

Cost:
Points = $7200
Closing Cost ?????
Annual Maint Fee ?????
Other Costs ?????

Thanks!!!

the closing costs can vary with the number of points but run 400 to 600. I just closed on 270 points. Had to pay 585 in closing costs and the current years maint fees since I am getting all of those points. The Maintenance fee came to 992.This covers all of the costs. I hope this helps!:Pinkbounc :wave2:

We have found differences in closing costs among the 3 resale brokers we have used, ranging from approximately $1.50 per point up to $2.25 per point.

Typically the buyer pays the maintenance fee for any current year points that will be available to them.

I believe there is also a $100 transfer fee that Disney charges.

If I were budgeting for closing costs I would use the greater of $2.00 per point or $450.

I think that this estimate is low unless you are buying a very large package of points. I was pricing packages in the 100 - 150 range and closing costs were $400 - $500+. That would work out more like $2.50 to $3.25, if you were trying to divide it evenly amongst the number of points purchased.

That could very well be true! Just basing my figures on our contracts!
