I was just having a conversation with my sister, who likes her "Fu-Fu drinks" (as her DH calls them) and we were trying to figure out how much they are if they're not the drink of the day. Just a ball park figure if you have one.

Thanks!

:yo-yo:

If I remember right they were 4 something if they weren't the drink of the day. We only got 1 so I am not positive on that but they did 2 for 1 Bahama Mamas..MMMMMMM my bar bill increased significantly with that deal!

Some of the deals were really good drinks you could almost consider froo froo....good boat drinks anyway.

Yellow Bird - Rum, Creme de banana, Galliano, Pineapple & orange Juice $3.50

Tropical Breezer - Midori, Bacardi Lemon, Pineapple Juice $3.50 and they had 2 for 1 Tropical Loco and Flavored Margaritas as well.

Caribbean Lemonade - Cirton Vodka, Lemonade and Pineapple Juice $3.50

That's what I thought, but she thought I was a bit off, she thought higher.

How much is the "drink of the day"? I thought it was $4-$5??

Thanks for a quick response!

yes, the fu fu drinks are around 3.50. They do cost more if you get them in a souvenir glass and that could be what you are thinking. I think those are around six bucks or so...

This is our 1st DCL cruise and my 1st cruise. My sis has cruised other lines before so that might be where she's coming from. Are they higher does anyone know?

Dont forget they add a 15% tip to drinks so a $3.50 drink (without the souvenier glass) actually costs $4.00 when you add the tip!
:earseek:

I have cruised with DCL before and never knew they had a drink of the day-do they have one everyday?

yes, it is usually a different drink each day.

OK, I don't drink, so I don't really care (and also didn't pay attention on our previous cruises), but...

If they have a "Drink of the Day" for $3.50 (per the Navigator), and specialty drinks are all $3.50, what's the point of having a "Drink of the Day"? Wouldn't a "Drink of the Day" for $3.50 only make sense if the other drinks cost more?

I just got back last week. The drink of the day was 3.50 plus 15%. When I ordered pina colda (bad spelling) rum runner or the conch coolers they were 4.75 plus 15%. My dad got a few gin and tonic they were 3.75 for bottom shelf liquir and the Tangeria and tonic was 4.75. I had a few glasses of wine they were 4.75 and 5.00 plus 15%. I hope that helps Brenda

Will the bartender give you a "floater" on top of your drink and what do they charge for this? Disney's drinks are always way too weak (especially for $5.00!)

Mac - I guarantee that if you look after your bartender by adding an additional tip to the 15% you'll not get any more weak drinks on DCL ;)

Okay, I check these boards out several times every day. Color me stupid, but what's a fu-fu?

Mac - yes you take care of your bartenders - ours were Lourdes and Joval by the Goofy pool - and they will definitely take care of you. Tell them how you want it and keep going to them and like said above give them a little extra they will keep you good for the week. They learn your likes and even offer suggestions you may like as well. If we didn't like one, they gave us our favorite, which was coconut java, without charging for the new one. I seem to remember about 10 or 11 bucks plus the extra I put on for two drinks.

CRB fu fu drinks are frozen drinks or island drinks or boat drinks, like pina coladas, daquiris, and the like.

Alcoholic drinks that come with umbrellas in them and those that are sweeter or the icey drinks like pina coladas.

They are NOT the tradional drinks: gin and tonic, martenies, rum and coke, screwdrivers, etc.

Wow, it took some time to do that! :teeth:

I paid about 6.50 for daquiris and mud slides. But, I got the nice glasses I could take home. Drink of the day is about 3.50 and it's usually something fruity and tropical...but not blended. If she likes her blended drinks be prepared to pay! But, if you give that bartender a little extra tip, they keep coming back to your chair and the bartender will HOOK YOU UP! LOL...I had some pretty potent daquiris!
