Hi, I am looking into purchasing a DVC in the near future. I've looked throughout the boards as well as all my literature and can't find an answer to this: how many years can you bank points? Say you don't use DVC for 5 years in a row (I of course would never do that, why would I buy anyways?). Can you load up on points or is there a 1 year limit?

Any other news about a possible Contemporary Vacation Club? I would prefer to wait and buy into that. We're heading to WDW in 2 weeks and I plan on investigating at the source.... will let you all know anything I can find out!

Thanks for reading and I've really learned a lot about DVC from such a knowledgable bunch!

You can bank current year points into next year...you can bank up to two years' worth of points to use on a Disney cruise (but not for any other purpose). You can also borrow one year's points.

So, if you bank a year, use a year, and borrow a year you can get up to 3 years worth of points to use in "the middle" year...but as far as I know, that's the most you can do...

Good luck w/your decision

By banking points, you gain one additional year to use them. If you have a June Use Year - your points from 2007 will expire on May 31, 2008 unless used or banked. If they are banked, they must be used by May 31, 2009 or they will expire. While you could bank points every year, they still need to be used or they will be lost. Some have found the need to rent points they won't be able to use themselves.
