During our October trip we experienced a multiple ticket mix up in our MDE accounts that just couldn't be 'righted' by the various guest services reps we interacted with during our 4 days in the parks:bitelip:

Upon our return home WDW decided it was easier to cancel all the affected sets of tickets and electronically issue a brand new set of MYW PH tickets in DH & my MDE accounts.

They are listed as re-assignable.:thumbsup2 yea!

I had thought of assigning both sets to one of my sons (I control his MDE account) to cover the days needed for an upcoming trip. However, he might not be able to vacation with us next spring due to school obligations & we won't know until rather last minute. I'd like to be able to link them so I can make the FP+ as early as possible.

My question is: If he cannot utilize these tickets, could I then re-assign them a 2nd time to another person in our MDE group or would the tickets be linked to his account permanently?:scratchin

It is economically unwise to use more than ONE ticket per guest during a single trip.
Just assign one ticket and then Upgrade it by adding days, etc. to it.
Save the second ticket for a future trip.

I had to reassign one of our annual pass vouchers twice. I renewed them in October and when I linked the numbers to my account my aunt was assigned two passes (she and my grandmother have the same first/last name) and my grandmother was deleted from my account completely. I had to add my grandmother again and then reassign one of the vouchers linked to my aunt to her. I had no issues in doing so.

I re-assigned MYW ticket 3 times to 2 different people. At the end the ticket still had an option to re-assign. It seems that as long as ticket is not used it may be able to be re-assigned indefinitely.

Thanks for the information all:)

our intent was to combine both tickets to achieve the # of days needed for the trip & have ability to book FP+ before we arrive. Honestly, never occurred to me to just upgrade one ticket at a time:thumbsup2

Wondering how to accomplish an upgrade in this situation as to actual procedure...

Since we didn't actually purchase these particular tickets, we don't have 'paper' tickets or any form of receipt other than the notes in our file.

Should re-assign one of the tickets (or even hold for our own usage:idea:) & then it could be upgraded?

Would we have to wait until we are in the parks or can it be done online somehow pre-arrival?

I can only GUESS if these are regular Magic Your Way tickets.
If they ARE, they can be upgraded.

They can only be upgraded while at WDW.
You can make additional advance FP+reservation "days" for the upgraded extra "days" on the ticket
as soon as you do the upgrade.
(The upgrade can be done at any ticket booth, Guest Relations, or WDW resort Concierge desk.)

And, if these are regular Magic Your Way tickets, it will be far, far less expensive to add days to
one ticket than to use two separate tickets for one guest during one trip. (Do the math.) ;)

If these tickets are NOT regular Magic Your Way tickets.
I doubt that they can be upgraded.

You could assign both tickets to him so you can make FP+ reservation in advance. Then, once you get to WDW upgrade one of the tickets to cover all of the days of that trip. Then make sure the priorities are setup to use the upgraded ticket first. (Alternatively what I did was setup a ficticious person in my MDE account to hold an unused ticket and reassign the unupgraded ticket to that person so that ticket doesn't get accidentally used).

Ditto.

that would work, thank you

re the tix, below is how the ticket is listed in my MDE account. Noticed it doesn't indicate MYW ticket anywhere. Not sure if this how is how MYW tix are typically listed or not since all my past tickets linked were APs or the special DVC tickets (both are designated thusly in my history):confused3:

There's likely no reliable way to tell if those tickets are upgradable in the usual way until you get to WDW and an in-person Guest Relations.
(I'd not take the word of a "Phone CM" for this kind of thing.)

If the tickets CAN be upgraded, you've got your plan.
If they can't be upgraded, just leave them both connected as the tickets for that one person in your party... and have fun!
