How many women/men would do this?

DH and I have total opposite tastes on everything. From Politics to clothes, to a picture on the wall. We have to go searching for each item together for a happy medium!

It seem you alread talk about it....With us, we talk ...mainly we talk about the money, how much...not what it look like:) . Hubby just care about the price. :)

I bought a car without my DH with me. As long as he is aware of it, he trusts my judgement.

I always consult my husband even though he is agreeable to almost anything. I love his input because he thinks of all the pros and cons when buying something, I don't.

I'd probably tell him that I was going to buy something, but he'd rather not have to go shopping for it. He'd buy the first thing that felt comfortable, regardless of price or looks, since he hates to shop. He's also very color blind, so I don't let him make any decorating decisions. I have to pick out his clothes. I'm not about to turn over furniture picking to him.

Regarding furniture or any type of interior decorating.....my DH has no taste and he knows it. He has absolutely no problem with me picking out furniture, paint colors, bedspreads, etc. without consulting him. The only thing that he requests, is that the furniture be comfortable. :D :D :D

Anybody ever watch Designing for the Sexes? Good show.

I went looking myself for living room furniture, until I found a set I loved. I wanted DH to meet me there at lunchtime...he was so busy at work, he said to just order it myself. But I insisted that he and my mother meet me there...I wanted their opinions.

Well, DH and mom thought the set was "OK" but they both LOVED a different set. (Those two are so much alike, it's creepy. LOL I married a man "just like dear old mom". ) So...I bought the set I originally liked. :teeth:

I do like to get DH's opinion...I'm not always going to go along with it tho. :)

If DH picked out the furniture we'd still be decorating in Early american Lawn Furniture (the old webbed kind), stacks of newspaper and milk crates!!!

I've been living with my BF for 7 years now & I'm still trying to get rid of crates! I did manage to get rid of the sofa. It was part of a sectional so it was missing one side. You'd sit on it & the cushions would slide right off. Of course, anytime I start going through anything to get rid of stuff, he whines about me creating work for him  His excuse it that we'll be glad we had those crates when we move. Well, he was just on the phone last night telling his friend that it doesn't make sense for us to move until I finish law school (4 years from now!). Isn't that what moving boxes are for?

Sure I would, especially if we had already discussed it and I had already told him I was buying something if I liked it. I think it's great you found something you really liked :)

DW bought a house I didn't see until we got ready to move in(the new house was in a different state and I couldn't get away from work). Two years later we moved again and made a bundle when we sold the house. :D

My husband picked out our first apartment without me when we were engaged (I was in NJ and he was in CA). Then, when he was at sea, I bought a car without him. We were both fine with each other's choices. After being married 14 years now, though, I don't think I'd let him choose where we live without me!!
