I think the most recent stats I have seen have the number of visitors to the Magic Kingdom on the order of 15-16 million per year. However, is that number the amount of people that went through the turnstiles or unique visitors through the turnstiles? If it is not unique, then what would the actual unique visitor headcount be closer to? 1/4? 1/5? I am sure the majority of Disney guests buy multi day passes and the average pass being 5 days.

Any thoughts?

technically, it's neither.

Disney (and other parks) doesn't release numbers. They do release percentage changes in their annual reports, but those numbers you see are the work of a trade publication, which actually is no longer in business, and included other factors. the numbers released in 2006 are for 2005 and have the MK at 16.1 million.

but it'd be impossible to get an accurate count. there's no special first timer ticket or dna fingerprint. all that can be said is WDW operates on the philosophy that each visitor could be there for the first and last time in their life (or at least once in every long while trip).
