While the kids were cleaning their rooms yesterday I wanted to supervise but still get something done myself so I decided to clean out my craft closet (It is just outside their rooms and bathroom).

Well..... I found too many unfinished projects to mention. A baby cross-stitch bib, 2 quilt tops to be put together and quilted, 3 Christmas stockings to be sewn, and tons of fabric that I bought to make quilts with. Now I also scrapbook so that is a never ending project. I also threw away a huge bag of trash which I couldn't believe since we have only lived in this house for a little over a year.

So how do you all think I should get these things finished? I started the bib last night. It should only take about 6 hours or so to complete so that is a no brainer, but I hate to have all these UFP's around. Maybe we should start a challenge to see who can complete the most. I know I can not be the only one out there.

Now here's a topic I can relate to! :rotfl2:

I've got to clean out my "crafting" room, just to find out what I really have going on! Well, it's not really THAT bad, but I am known around my house for getting a few things "not so finished"!

Well since Im not very crafty I dont have any lying around, lol. Just have my scrapbook pages they are waiting to be done.

You don't even want to know!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Oh my goodness! Where to start...I have an old 5-drawer dresser (from when I was at home) that is full of craft supplies purchased for projects. Some were finished when I was selling at craft shows, but I still have supplies to do more of them. Others are for projects I planned, but never got around to. Then there are the supplies I picked up at garage sales or had people just give to me. Can we say pack-rat??

You know those large, plastic crates grocery stores use to store stuff for their drug aisle? They're about 2'W x 3'L x 2.5'H and have interlocking lids. Anyway, in the basement I have at least 2 of those with wood pieces to be painted, another with basket weaving stuff, and another that is filled with acrylic paints.

Then there are the things that are probably in cardboard boxes in storage. I still have at least 1 unfinished afghan that I can think of. And remember those home craft project shows? I have a couple baby birth samplers and countless counted-cross stitch and crewel projects. (Mostly Christmas ornaments I'd bet.)

Oh - and I have a cross stitch (not counted, just the X's) table cloth that I bought almost 30 yrs ago to make for SIL when she got married. I got too many things & couldn't finish them all. Every once in a while I get that out & work on it.

And that doesn't include all the stuff I've gotten in the past 6 months for scrapping!

That's all I can think of at the moment. :sad2: Do I win?? :earseek:

Piratesmate, my old 5-drawer dresser is still sitting out in my carport, waiting to be stripped and refinished! Well, the drawers have been removed and stripped, but the dresser is still there. Does that count? :rolleyes1

I always think refinishing furniture is such a good idea. I can picture it in my mind & think I'll love it. What I forget is how much work it is! :( I really hate doing it! :rotfl:

That reminds me....When we did our dresser, some of the knobs needed replacing. I got a set of plain wooden ones at the hardware store. I painted them a cream color & then stenciled slate blue hearts on them. Then I covered them with several layers of polyurethane. They ended up looking like porcelain - very nice!

piratesmate,

YOU WIN!!!! Even I don't have that many projects. I told myself I was going to finish the bib and the one quilt this winter. The quilt is about the size of a twin so it will take a while to quilt. Since I haven't been working much this should help pass the time. I found that it matches our new furniture nicely so I can't wait to have it done. Of course by the time it is quilted and binded, it will be summer :)

My problem is that DH gets tired of my stuff being out while I'm working on projects, so he'll 'help' by "packing things up to get them out of the way." That would be fine if he'd put them places I could get to, but with my bad knee I can't get into our basement. I'm dependent on him to bring them back, which he's reluctant to do until I finish what I'm working on, or because "you just finished one! Can't we have the living room uncluttered for a while?" ;)

We don't have a den - just a dining room & living room. In fact, my office area is in a corner of the living room, DD's is in the dining room & DH has his in our bedroom. We're kind of cramped here.
