How many trips do you currently have planning in your head

AWIDY, you can't tease us with a comment like that and not elaborate! What are your 5 trips??? :duck:

I think 5 sounds very restrained :rotfl:

We are planning/dreaming about ( hopefully) accomplishing these sometime :-

  • two weeks in Italy ( hopefully this year!) although that may end up being 2 weeks in Hawaii... If we do Italy this year, we might go to Hawaii next year. All depends on DS's school situation..Once DS is finished school he probably won't be travelling with us anymore so we can let our head go a bit and take advantage of cheaper travel out of school holidays so then...
  • DH has mapped out 3 more big USA Road-trips on the roadtrippers.com website. By the time we've done all three trips we will have fulfilled my bucket-list plan to visit every state in the Union. :cool1:
  • Hoping to do a Canadian driving trip from Vancouver up through the Rockies and down into the northern part of Washington State.
  • We want to go back to do a western-half of the British Isles trip. I want to see Cornwall, more of Wales, Ireland, the Lakes district and the Western isles of Scotland
  • When we're older we've got plans with friends to do a Russian River Cruise. That one is a long way off though...but it doesn't stop me thinking about it :rotfl2:

When I read that list it sounds excessive but Dh has had some major health issues in the last couple of years that gave us a jolt and made us take stock of what was important to us. We both love travel and want to see as much of the world as we can while we still can.

Andona

This is a great question.

Well at the moment I have our definite:-

Mar-Apr 2013 - England, Ireland, Scotland & France

Then in my head I have:-

April 2014 - 1 month long Italy, Spain, Greece & Turkey

late December 2014 - China (we have friends who have just moved there for 3 years, would be mad not to take advantage of that)

December 2015 - Germany, Australia, Switzerland plus more

once the kids are older DH and I would love to do a road trip, coast to coast like Andona did plus we'd like to drive up the East Coast.

One day an Alaskan cruise or a trip to Hawaii would be nice too.

Planning - one. Wishing - hundreds.

Travelling above the equator is a real expense for us. Since committing to a mortgage, it's really only something we can afford to do every 3-4 years. But I have a bucket list and I'm determined to get through it. My present top 5 include:

_ WDW and Disney Cruise (that's the one in planning)
- Yellowstone National Park
- Baltics Cruise
- Another white Xmas in Europe
- Alaskan Cruise

Golden Bay - in a weeks time ;-)
Melbourne Mar 2013
California etc Sep/Oct 2013
WDW wtc Oct 2014
England Jul 2015
Canadian Ski Trip Jan 2016
Haven't thought any further ahead than that!

OK

Jan 14: WDW and New York
Midyear: DD's School Trips: One to Canberra and One to France/Germany
Dec 14: Aulani
Dec 15: Aulani & Outer Islands
Dec 18: London and New York
2019: The girls have graduated Ireland/Scotland/England Distillery Crawl - we do love our scotch. Drive a day, drink a day, recover a day, drive a day

  • Then there is the Anchorage to Anaheim Road Trip starting with an Alaskan Cruise
    Deep South
    Scandinavia and Iceland
    Germany, Belgium, Southern France
Las Vegas, Yosemite, Grand Canyon, New Mexico, DL Tr

I like this thread!! I was doing a search for Switzerland, and this came up. Never even been on the Australia forum :confused3

Anyhow, I have a ton of trips planned.
May DLR
June Phoenix (SF Giants road trip)
Sept NYC (SF Giants road trip)
Oct Disney Cruise

2014:
Brazil for World Cup
WDW
Road trip with SF Giants (hoping for Seattle)

2015:
TDL
SF Giants road trip

I would like to add Aulani in there somewhere, and the Alpine Family vacation has recently sparked my interest with ABD.

i have DLR in 27 days....then wdw in sept....so looking at universal today for LA and couldn't for the life of me find the 1 day 2 park tickets...took me about 12 mins to realize that's Orlando not LA....so confused....as long as I take matching shoes then its all OK i guess :confused3

Glad I'm not the only one! I reckon I spend half my life dreaming about holidays :rotfl:

At the moment these are the ones I've got rolling around in my head...
* Definite trip to Europe in 6 weeks :cool1:
* Seriously planning RunDisney 10k at DLR with side-trip to San Fran, Yosemite, and coastal drive
* Seriously planning to attend opening day at Shanghai Disneyland, with possible extra travel around China (depending on whether DH tags along)
* Dreaming about a road trip in the US, southern states focusing on national parks/monuments, including New Orleans
* Dreaming about the RunDisney Everest Challenge 5k at WDW
* Dreaming about a trip to South America, Peru with ABD, then a side-trip cruise to Antarctica (and that will be every continent :thumbsup2)
* Dreaming about a trip to Canada, including travel on the rocky mountaineer and possible Alaska cruise
* Dreaming about a trip to Japan, obviously including Tokyo Disneyland
* Dreaming about more time in Europe - Belgium, Germany, more of Switzerland and Austria, and possibly Norway are all high on my list
* Dreaming about a trip to Aulani and exploring the Hawaiian islands
* Dreaming about a Disney cruise of some description

That's a lot of dreaming :rolleyes1 There are many more places I'd love to visit, but they are no more than fleeting thoughts for the moment. There's no more room in the travel part of my brain :lmao:

We have dlr + wdw + dcl + universal orlando in sept 2013

Plus i have pretty much specc'd out a trip for wdw and dcl for may 2014

The ones i am dreaming about involve winning lotto :)

Bali 2013 (fully paid and we are leaving in just a few weeks)

Disney Mediterranean Cruise & DLP (fully paid and leaving July 2013)

Hawaii hopefully (work conference then add on time with DH, unpaid as yet date TBC Sept/Oct 2013)

Bali 2014 (deposit paid only)

DLR & New York 2014 (deposit only, July for DD to dance at DL)

Shanghai DL within months of opening in 2015/16 (unpaid as no details yet)

Like Ky we too have Bali in a few weeks.

We also have our big Disney trip at the end of the year.

I am finding planning the two trips at the same time is doing my head in :confused3:confused3:confused3 but I do love the excitement of the planning stage. I find from the time we decide to go I make a thousand changes and I am also constantly looking at a million different combinations of days and places.

Even Bali started out as a trip to the Gold Coast (Even had it booked and paid).

The USA trip even though I have booked the accommodation I find I am still playing around with changes every week. I have my planning spreadsheet on a USB stick I carry everywhere so I can play around with our plans at any time. :surfweb::surfweb::surfweb:

My list at the moment is:

Definite - April 2013 - Perth (to visit my sister! and have never been so will be nice to see the city) - me plus my 2 oldest kids.

Maybe - Dec 2013 - Perth for Christmas (me, husband, all 3 kids).

Probably definite: Sept/Oct 2014 - London/day trips from London/Paris/DLP (me for my 40th, sister, brother-in-law, maybe best friend).

Then the wish list:

Dec 2015: DL, Whistler, Lake Louise (for Christmas)

Jan 2017 - 20th wedding anniversary - may have to let my husband choose the destination for this one, he's keen on tropical islands.

Dec 2022 (!!) - Paris with my 2nd oldest when she finishes Year 12 (bribe to keep her away from schoolies).

No dates in mind but on the wish list:

*Switzerland/Italy/Germany/etc

*Sweden/Denmark/etc

*North Qld/Great Barrier Reef

*Tasmania (went a few years ago, would love to spend more time there)

*Red Centre/Uluru

Welcome dizneekrazee! With a name like that you'll certainly fit in around here!

Definite Trips:

Now - Currently on a road trip travelling up the South Coast of NSW

April 13 - Gold Coast, QLD (we do this every year)

September 13 - WDW + 2 weeks yet to be planned - maybe a cruise??

Probable trips but still throwing about ideas:

Dec 13 - Trying to get DH interested in Kota Kinabalu but currently he won't budge.

July 14 - Indonesia - my sister is a missionary over there.

Late 14 - Hawaii

On my wish list (read post children):
Galápagos Islands
Peru
Antarctica
African Safari

After this year's Sept/Oct trip, we will do a trip next year to Port Douglas, probably in the September school holidays.

Then we are planning a trip to the USA East Coast (NY, Boston, Washington, Florida -WDW!) in Dec/Jan 2015/2016. It would be wonderful to be in NY for NYE in 2015 as that will be our 10th wedding anniversary :) But I fear it is incredibly expensive there at that time of year, so we may be in Vegas on NYE instead, but still plan to visit NY (where we got engaged in Feb 2005). How long do Christmas decorations stay up at WDW after Christmas? Will probably fit in a quick visit to Disneyland on the way home too ;)

Isnt it great to have all these trips planned in your head, seriously the only reason i get through work some days is thinking about the trip or two or three:cool1:
So my plans wish list is:
March 2013 (7 weeks and counting)
Mexico Guatemala Belize and LA

April 2014
WDW, cruise on RC oasis, then hopefully onto europe, not sure where yet (DH has never been and I have been three times in the last two years as well as a 6month stint when I was 21) so I would love to go to Hungary, Croatia, Slovenia, Montenegro etc, where as DH would still like to see the usual suspects, France Italy uk, etc
March 2015, south America and antartica(gotta save big for that one)
2016, Europe and Egypt

Still need to fit Vietnam, Japan skiing, Broome, Perth, ayers rock in there somewhere
