How many trees are you putting up?

Well, so far we have one up and decorated. We call this one DH's tree. It's a white tree with red, white and blue decorations.

My tree is up but not working. It's a pre lit and only 2 of the 5 sections are lighting. DH has so nicely been going through bulb by bulb to see what's wrong. My tree is green with traditioal ornaments and the ones the kids have made.

At the lakehouse we only have one tree. Actually, it never came down last Christmas, so for July 4th, we just took off the Christmasy stuff and put on red, white and blue stuff. So now, we just reverse that. Take off the R, W, and B and put the Christmas back on. I think we've decided from now on to leave this tree up year round. It's just easier.

So how many trees are you putting up? Describe them.

We normally have done 1 in the past, but we decided I get my own Star Wars tree this year. And of course, now we're not doing any trees this year because I'm going TDY tomorrow and right after I get back, my wife leaves and is going straight to her sister's house. I get to drive 10 hours to my in-laws two days before Christmas by myself.

Atlanta holiday traffic, that's my little present to myself.:thumbsup2

:lmao: Man, that's a gift I wouldn't give my worse enemy!!

I think we're putting up two, since we can't decide on whose is going up! My dd has a Buzz Lightyear tree that she is begging for position so it might just be THREE!

We have one real tree which goes in the living room with all my "coordinated" ornaments and some of the homemade. Then my DH has the "alternative" tree which is actually our 9 ft. ficus tree in the family room which he decorates with fun lights (the Giant/Dolphins lights, some Hawaiian shirt lights, flamingo lights) and my DD also put some of the handmade ornaments on this tree. Then we have some small artificial trees throughout the house and the basement/play room - the powder room has a tree with seashells since that's the decor in there, the dining room has one with silver & blue ornaments, the basement/playroom has one with all Hallmark miniature ornaments, each of my DDs bedroom have a tree they've picked out.

Yep, it takes about 4 days to finish decorating. My DH says it looks a bit over done and that I'm a Christmas fanatic:laughing:

Justanopinion: Do you ever plug in those action ornaments into the lights? You know the Hallmark kind that you take a light bulb out and put the ornment in instead? Because those will kill off and ruin a pre lit tree. I know this from my own sad experience! I hope you get yours working, we never did.

I have six trees total.

Living room is your basic, large, all sorts of ornaments from years and years of my life. Very traditional.

Then I have a pencil, pre lit in the family room with nothing but Disney ornaments on it. Hallmark and ones we have bought on our various Disney trips through the years.

I have a small one in my bedroom with nothing but red ornaments on it. Dh did this one himself and is quite proud. Its lovely.

The kids each have a small tree in their rooms with various ornaments they have gotten as gifts and some oraments that belonged to my mother who passed away in January and loved Christmas. I divided up a lot her ornaments with all the grandkids and I am so happy my kids have trees to put those on. I'll also add ds' tree is nothing but nativity ornaments. He just decided that was what he wanted when he was around 5 and we bought him that little tree. Dd's is a hodpodge.

Last but not least, I have a tree in my basement. It has mostly red ornaments and snowflakes on it, its very pretty. That tree came about when my pre lit bit the dust three years ago just a few days before Christmas. So dh went to Target and they had this one 6' tree in stock. We used it that year as our main tree for the last week of Christmas but its not big enough to have as our main tree. So we just decided to put in our basement for my inlaws to enjoy when they come for Christmas.

And lest you all think I am insane to have six trees, its mostly because my birthday is Christams Day. My whole life everybody has given me Christmas ornaments and decor for my birthday. I am 44 (almost) now so that's a lot of stuff I have gotten! I am out of rooms now so the trees are getting crowded but I still love it that people give me such lovely things to enjoy this time of year!

Great thread, I love seeing what other people have in their homes!

We have one tree up in the family room. Our basement is being finished now so Im sure next year we'll have 2 tress.

We typically only do 1 tree.

I think when we have kids they can have their own smaller tree to decorate.. maybe?

I do one tree upstairs, one tree downstairs, mostly because I didn't know where we'd be opening presents in the living room or family room. Now I have the two artificial trees (allergies, took me years to figure out why I always have a cold at Christmastime) and the decorations for them so figure why not. If one dies I'll just do the one downstairs since that's where we open presents.

Two trees. We have an open foyer so my DH insisted on getting a 10ft. pre-lit artificial tree for it. I call it "his" tree. He does it very artistically with a big bow at the top and red and gold ribbons spiraling down from the top and red and gold ball ornaments. The foyer is the only place you'll find clear lights in my house. I also set my Lemax village up under this tree.

The other tree is our real tree and it goes in the corner of the family room, right near the fireplace. I always get a Fraser Fir since they seem to hold their needles well. The tree gets tons of lights, all of our glass ornaments (my favorites!), the kid-made ornaments, favorites ornaments from childhood, our yearly gift ornaments, and everything else that whoever is decorating it likes. Our gifts on Christmas morning get spread out around this tree. It's so colorful and sentimental - my favorite tree.:goodvibes

We only do 1 big tree, in the living room. DD has a very small tree on her bookshelf- it actually stays up all year, but at Christmastime, the lights go on. We also have a small tree that sits on the dining room table- it is white, and has only mini candy canes on it.

We have 3

One big one which is our traditional tree, then two small pre-lit ones that are in the window for decoration along with 3 rein deer. We also have a blow up Mickey Mouse Santa outside.

So far I know we are putting up 4. Of course that number could go up. :cutie: We love Christmas!

I had to put up the tree at work... so I'm now going to have to force myself to put up our tree... only one tree at my house. I see no reason to do more than that.

Two for me. The main one is in the living room, next to the fireplace (tree is artificial, and we don't light a fire). It's about 6 feet tall, plus the lift we put under it (makes it look taller, and it's easier to put presents under it, learned that from my dad some years back). It's mostly decorated with Disney decorations. There are a couple of others, but not many. Most years we add a few more non-disney items, but this year we are also putting up a small tree at the end of the hallway. And the rest of the ornaments are going on that.

Zip. Zilch. Not even one. :(

The last time I put just one up, I had to fight my dad like crazy to do it. Ever since my mom died 8 years ago, he just doesn't want to deal with it. It always took both her and I to get dad to get the Christmas decorations out.

We used to have up to 5 trees (various sizes) up every year. I really miss decorating the house and making it feel like Christmas. Now it's the same old dreary house on Christmas as it is the rest of the year. :sad2:

I have 4, 2 of which are up. My big 7ft Disney tree is up and my red and gold lounge tree is up as well. I need to clean my garden room before I put my silver and blue themed tree up there. Then I have outside to do!!
