How many TOT drops?

Ooh, I want to know the answer to this too! Maybe you should do a poll?? The random/multiple drops is the SOLE reason I refuse to ride ToT lolol. popcorn::

The most is four for us the least is three

Ditto (almost.)

EXCEPT the question, I believe, assumes that "all drops are created equal" and that's simply not the case.

There are so many combinations of short drops, then climbs, then wiggles, then "holds", and a drop or two more, that its really difficult to count what is a "drop" and what is a false start, hold, drop, hold, drop, assent, drop...
:goodvibes

If ToT was predictable, it would lose much of the reason people like to ride (and re-ride) it... The fact that you can't "learn" its routine.
Even after many return trips, you don't know what's coming next!

If that scares you... why do you think the person next to you is riding?
The idea of "fright" in a controlled environment is the main reason the queue is full of guests!

One of my favorite attractions of all time.

5 here for me. But all drops are different. I think we had 3 full drops and the other 2 were the little in betwen drops so all the drops are not full drops.

On our last trip, our first ride was 5 drops and the 2nd ride was 8 drops. :scared1: Each one was combination of the long and short drops. DD loves the drops :thumbsup2

When I waws there last week one time was about 5 (forgot to count) and the other was 7.

I normally have trouble with roller coasters (with motion sickness) but was wondering if this ride also causes this.

My DW gets motion sick on M:S (orange), Star Tours, RnR, and the Teacups...

but we ride ToT over and over, with no ill effects.

OMG. I am determined to ride this time - I am a bit of a chicken - and I sure hope I only have 3 drops. :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Be careful what you wish for...

IF there are only THREE drops on your trip... assume each of those drops could be a bit more "hair-raising" than if you had, say,
SIX drops, which would, in that case, each be a bit less "intense" per drop.

Again I'll say, not all drops are created equal.

"Never the same fright twice!"
:goodvibes

BTW, other posts to the contrary, guests can not accurately "count the drops" from outside the building (or inside the queue, for that matter) just WATCHING the ride at WDW.

By the time we hit the 2nd drop, I forgot how to count.

:rotfl: Very true Chester!
BTW, this is the only ride I wouldn't do a year ago and I too was determined to do it when we went earlier this month. I rode it for the very first time with my extremely brave 8 and 5 year old DDs. It was actually fun! After the first drop I looked over at my 5 year old expecting tears and all I heard was giggles...
To the OP, I think we dropped 4 or 5 times.
