:cool2: I have one reserved for May 26th and the price I was quoted was $145 for a regular cabana, the themed cabanas are $185.:cool2:

When I called a few weeks ago to book one for our trip this June, I was told that the charge would be either $145 for Cabanas 1 through 6, or $185 for Cabanas 7 through 10. She said that 7 through 10 included raft usage and one free refill of the soda set.

I can't comment on the experience part, as this will be my first time renting one (or even staying at the HRH for that matter), but I've read a number of good reports on this board about the Cabanas. We will be arriving at the HRH in the morning after driving all night and plan to spend our day relaxing around the pool while waiting for our room to become ready...I'm looking forward to having the Cabana to relax in and give my kids a little refuge from the sun (at least when I can get 'em out of the pool).

OH cool! The girl I spoke to didnt give me all those details! We just booked Cabana 7 for June 28.

I noticed above that a raft was included in the price. Based on this, I'm assuming that you have to rent a raft if you want one (for HRH pool)? If so, what would be the cost? Does anyone know if you can bring your own inflatable?

Thanks!

What exactly is the "soda set" ??

I would assume so since she pointed that out as one of the differentiating points between cabanas 1-6 and cabanas 7-10. I was a bit surprised when she mentioned it as I had not read about raft inclusion in any of the previous cabana threads. :boat:

They stock the cabana with a set of 6 sodas for the day. With cabanas 7-10, they will also provide one refill (another set of 6). :drinking1

Clearly, those two perks (raft + refill) don't justify much of the $40 price differential. You're paying extra for the theming and/or the location. I booked cabana 9 for our June trip primarily based on location...
:beach:

last year at hrh if you stayed club level, you got a discount on the cabanas

I just got off the phone with RPR and their private cabana's are $75 ($40 if you are staying club level). Their "soda set" consisted of 2 Fiji waters, 2 Cokes, 2 Diet Cokes & 2 Sprite. HRH is probably the same.

I think I remember the soda's being the same except HRH has their own water. We also had a fruit bowl. The price is VERY different! More than double. Does RPR have TV's? How many are there? I thought I only remember them having 3 cabanas.

Yep that is what we paid for a Cabana last year at RPR. ($40) Everything you listed plus a fruit bowl. RPR cabanas do have tv's but you cant see the pool from the Cabana. SO if you have little ones you wont be able to enjoy it. If you are looking for privacy ask for the Cabana by the hot tub. It is very private. HRH Cabanas are $140 or $185.

We had that cabana for my birthday last year. I think I will try to reserve it for our upcoming trip this year as well.

Hello,
Im new to the Boards and find these were very helpful last yr. for our WDW vac.
We are going to be staying on sit at US RPR this time. We are going 8/20-8/27. I'm confused about this question of cabanas and their rental.
Do we call the RPR and reserve them? Can u bring your own drinks/snacks?
There are 4 of us 2 DS DW and Me. Sons are 12 and 13. I've been getting them woreked up by some of the video postings. They are great.
Thanks again, Fish Head.

hi fishhead.
yes call rph in advance to reserve the cabana.
they are limited and you never know if many want to rent them the dates you plan to.

for hrh, i rent way in advance.
at rph, the cabana rental is cheaper than the others.

i have seen people bring some of their own snacks.

When deciding whether or not to rent a cabana, I suggest you realistically consider your family's interests. We've rented a cabana twice at HRH. The 1st time we only used it for a short while, & really didn't get our money's worth. Most people here love them, so I decided to try again.

Well, the 2nd time we rented wasn't much different. We rented the Stevie Wonder Cabana. When we arrived, another family was thoroughly enjoying our lounge chairs, but soon left. Guess they should have rented it instead of us. ;) As others have noted, you do receive water, sodas, & fruit. If you prefer all of one type of soda, they will substitute the others for you. Our son isn't by any means a water dog. We rarely can get him to go to the pool with us, even though we love it. He wants to spend most of the day in the parks, & we knew that going in. However, we were really looking forward to using our cabana & floats, during the evening movie. We planned to order dinner & drinks from the Beach Club, then relax & enjoy the movie. Unfortunately, the movie was cancelled due to weather. This also happened the 1st time we rented one. Just so you know, the weather doesn't really need to be that bad either. There was no rain for lightening in sight either time. There had been the usual late afternoon thunderstorm, but that happens pretty much daily. Living in FL, we know they come & go quickly.

Basically, we paid for the fruit, drinks, & about 30 minutes of use. Not a good idea for us. If your family is the type that loves spending the day lounging by the pool, definitely get one. Otherwise, you may want to reconsider. If it were just my DH & I, we would definitely get plenty of use out of it. In hindsight, I should have been realistic about how much time our son would actually want to spend by the pool, & not have booked it in the 1st place. Sometimes, it seems I never learn. :sad2:

With your sons being 12 & 13, you may want to book a cabana at HRH instead. That will give you a good excuse to pool hop. The HRH pool is great! It's one of the best things about the resort.

So if I'm renting a cabana...which one is the best? Is there a map the shows where they are located available online anywhere??

That is what happened to us last year. However we didnt stay as long as we are staying this year. I also think we didnt use it as long because we couldnt see the kids from our cabana and one of us was always watching them. We are staying a full 6 days and the parks are closing later on this vacation than last vacation. So we will head to the parks after dark. Our kids would have LOVED staying at the pool all day last year but it was too much work since we couldnt see them. For what we are paying for that cabana at HRH we WILL stay there all day! :lmao:

Hi! Every year we book a cabana at the HRH for the length of our stay. We book cabana #9 or #10. We like these because of its location, close to the slide the pool and the childrens pool and we can keep an eye on the kids. We use the cabana as home base especially on the day we arrive. We get to the hotel very early, pack a seperate bag with swim suits etc, and have the cabana to hang out in until the room is ready. We love it! We will never stay at HRH without the cabana. The location of HRH to the parks and FOTL makes it easy to pop in and out of the parks and back to the cabana/pool. We receive with the rental, a bowl of fresh fruit, sodas and water in the refrig, along with pool toys/floats. The service is excellent and the employees are great! If you can put a cabana in your budget I would say do it!

Some times it does rain near dinner time and they close the pool. When the pool is closed so are the cabanas. But it doesn't last long and it gives us time to change or go to dinner. At the end of the day having the cabana to come back to is, for us, the best. Late swim, night cap, munchies.....OMG Hurry up JUNE!!!!!:cool1:

We are going down in June and was wondering which cabana is best to enjoy the dive-in movie. Kids will love to do this and I will love to sit back and relax while watching the movie.
