How many times to you let the phone ring before you answer it?

Usually four times. I have found that telemarketers let the phone ring that many times so they don't get an answering machine. Plus it usually takes me that long to find the last place one of the phones was put down.

If the phone rings after he leaves for work, I usually answer on the 3rd ring. DH gets mad if I'm screening when he calls

I have caller ID. If its someone calling for me I pick up right away. If its "unknown" or "private", I let the machine get it, then if its still someone I know, I pick it up. If not, they get the beep.

normally 2-3 rings. i normally run to the phone with caller id to see who it is. sometimes i screen calls too.

Usually takes about 2 rings for the Caller ID to show up. If I recognize the name/number, I pick it up. If not, the machine gets it.

As long as it takes for caller ID to place the call. Once I see that, then I make my decision if I want to answer or not.

None. Just over a month ago we had our house phone disconnected and we only use cell phones now! Much better!!

At home, I answer it before it rings most of the time. That really freaks people out. I can anticipate the ring before it rings sometimes.

At work I answer it on the 1st or 2nd ring.

My ringer tone on my cell phone is the I Love Lucy theme song. I usually let it ring through the first "verse".
