DH and I are each each other's second marriages. I guess we both had what they call "starter" marriages now. We were lucky that neither had children with our exes, so we don't have the problem of having to play nice with them (exes, not kids). He is on good terms with his ex, I however having a standing restraining order and seem to bump into him way too much for my liking!

I have never been married, my father has been married and divorced 3 times, and my mom is on her third, though legally not married this time, as she was in the past, as she is gay, no wonder the first two marraiges didn't work

Once. Had it annulled 3 weeks later because he began physically and emotionally abusing me (apparently decided to save that part of his personality till after the rings were on) and I left and decided to spend a good portion of my time trying to help women in abusive relationships.

To any woman in an abusive relationship who may read this :

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO MARRY HIM. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO STAY WITH HIM. EVEN IF YOU ARE MARRIED TO HIM, YOU CAN LEAVE. THERE ARE PLACES TO GO AND PEOPLE WHO CARE.

Myself, I'm happily in a long term relationship now. Will likely stay with him for the rest of my life but never intend on getting legally married again.
