How many times did you move when you were in school?

We moved a lot (5 times!!) until I was in the 2nd grade and from there on I was in the same school system.

My sons don't know what it's like to move to another school.

Never. I lived in the same house from 0 to 18.

Just one....when I was 5. I moved from Nebraska to New Jersey and into my DH's first grade class.

Too many times to count. I did go to 7 different elementary schools by the time I was in 4th grade. Two of those schools I went to twice. Luckily by mid 4th grade we stayed in one place for a while - at least until 9th grade.

I moved in 2nd grade, 11th grade, and 12th grade. Needless to say, my junior and senior years were just peachy.

We moved once, when I was 15, the summer between 10th & 11th grades. It didnt really affect my school friends because I went to a private school and they were all from surrounding towns anyway.

Never, lived in the same house 0-18. My parents have moved 2 times since then and the house we lived in then has been torn down.

I'm also not sure the elementary school I attended is still open. They had very few students and there was some talk about it closing. I'll have to look it up.

Once in 7th grade. It affected my DB, DS, and I so badly that my Mom refused to move us again. I told DH that I do not want to move when the kids are past elementary. I don't think that will really be a problem. I do not do well with change.

After 4th grade.
After 7th (or was it 8th) grade.

None. I moved to the house I grew up in when I was 2, and I moved out when I went to college.

We moved to a different neighborhood when I was 5 and stayed in that house until I was a freshman in college. It was an awesome house to grow up in....big and rambling....and when I was in high school it was the "party" house - my parents were out of town a lot!

0. I lived in the same house until I got married. My Dad has lived in the same house all his life. My Mom moved in when they got married.

16 different schools.....14 elementary

I already informed the husband....we won't be leaving this house until both girls are married

Lets see, I moved three times before 1st grade.
Then during fourth grade, once.

In college I moved three times.


I counted it up I moved nine times in nine years...

Eight times over the course of my school years. My Dad was military.

My dad is a retired United Methodist minister. We moved a lot. We moved twice before I started kindergarten. During K through 12, we moved 4 times. I made a vow to myself that my kids would not have to endure that hardship. So far so good. If we can say put for 6 more years, both of our children will have graduated from the same school system where they attended preschool.
