DISNEY! (DVC to be more precise)

...Wow...as much as I think about many things, I find my mind wanders to the comfort of a 2BR villa at WDW, several times a day (ok...several times an hour, but who's counting).

Tis a sickness for sure, but boy do I ever get that smile inside each and every time!! :)

new_yawka -

you are definitely not alone. I spent the last ten or eleven months planning my trip that we just completed last week, and I am now planning the next one. I think I drove my family crazy with all the excitement and anticipation of the trip - our first trip home to BCV. Since returning I too have thought about the times we had at WDW and how I wish the pleasure would never have to end.

There's always next time to plan for.

:smooth:

There are 86,400 seconds in each day. Subtract 28,800 for sleeping. The rest are for Disney :)

Many times when problems arise, I will let my mind wander and think " I should be at Disney ". Sitting on the balconey of our DVC resort with a cold drink in my hand, or poolside with the warm sun and a drink in my hand....lol. There seems to be certain pattern forming here!!

Anyway it all seems to ease my troubles....but puts an ache in my heart because I want to go back NOW !!

My BIL and I are both DVC members and we keep each other informed about our countdowns until our next trip. I am next in line so it is kind of fun to give him a hard time. He just got back so he has the more recent memories. It is alot of fun going back and forth, making us think of Disney all the time.

My mind is there a lot. Like disney4ever, frequently with a cold one in my hand at the Rose & Crown, The Big River and a few other places. I'll be able to "scratch that itch" in less than 2 weeks because we'll be "home" then!! Which doesn't help my concentration any right now.

You guys are SO FUNNY! I'm sure you've all seen the commercial for Disney where the couple puts on a little "mood music". I almost recently bought an Eeyore nightshirt but was afraid my hubby wouldn't approve. Maybe I'm wrong - we can get the best of both worlds!

Cheyita,

That was the inspiration for this post. The plain truth is, I have always thought of WDW as my second home and get home sick when I'm not there.

WDW and DVC can easily be associated with many of the most pleasant and wonderful parts of my life...my family, my wife, my children. All come together in an enormous collective smile when I think about going "home."

There are worse things to think about ;)

You know it's funny, a good friend of mine is about as crazy about WDW as I am, if not more so. He joined DVC last year and is one of the reason I hope to join next week. Anyway we both go to the same gym to workout and quite often we'll be on side by side treadmills. As we do our usual 30 minutes we'll be talking about DVC, Tower of Terror, Mission Space, etc. Folks walking by us give us the funniest looks hearing two 50+ yo men talking about Mickey Mouse. Thank goodness we have two very understanding wives. In fact, I am so proud of my wife - she has really come around to the idea of joining DVC. She keeps thinking of different ways to use points, etc. I can see future add on's already in the works.

OK, so I've been back to work for two days now since returning to my home away from "home". I can't tell you how many times I have been able to relive the events, experiences, etc. from last week as I have shared with my coworkers and friends. Talk about external pressure - I haven't gotten any work done yet. Guess my 8 days of WDW will cost me 21 days of under performance at the office....

:p

ditto. :D

In my mind, I'm at Disney and DVC several times during the day. Surrounded by pictures from past vacations keeps the magic alive. When my wife says that things are getting her down, I respond with "Well let's go Home" and she smiles knowing just what I mean. :D

DH calls me every day and when I answer the phone he is humming a Dsiney tune.....when driving we will suddenly look at each other and grin.....then he will say "We've got it bad"!

Faith, trust, and pixie dust!

Many of those 28,800 sleeping seconds I use for dreaming Disney dreams! :)

a male supoort group. We could meet every other month
( @ DVC resort ) of course. Helping each other thru the hard times. I would think a weeks worth of support would be enough until the next meeting.

What do you all say ?

I have no doubt the support group would be great...the first time. Sadly, my DW (and DSs) may not appreciate my using points without her  and....well...let's say...the support group would be the least of my problems ;)

I'm in, as long as the support group meets someplace like the Rose & Crown where I can have a cold one while I'm seeking support.

we would all have to do add-ons so the support group comes true.......lol. Right, honey ...can we buy 200 more points so I can go to WDW without you once a month ?
That would go over well................................lolol !!!

ohiominnie -- very good point :)

Here is something I found a while back, don't know who created it but its pretty good:

Disneyitis (Dis ney i' tis) n 1. Condition related to the uncontrollable desire to return to the World. Subjects with this condition are known to frequent note files, web pages, and newsgroups. Only known relief is a trip to Walt Disney World. There is no permanent cure....and no cure is being researched as those afflicted don't WANT one! Has also been known to infect Disneylanders. People who suffer from Disneyitis have also been known to spend an unusual amount of time at their local Disney Stores to temporarily relieve some of the symptoms associated with the disease. They will also tape, watch, re-watch, and re-re watch Disney videos, specials, parades, vacation planners, etc. Also will subscribe to Disney Magazine, and will read every brochure on Disney they can get their hands on. They will sport hats, coats, jackets, pants, and carry bags with Disney logos. Can't go more than one full year without going to the world without becoming suicidal, or worse, Homicidal! And no matter how many vacation days they take, they always seem to get ticked off at everything one or even two days before they have to leave the world and go back to the rat race.

I have no problem. I have a Disney screensaver, Disney desktop wallpaper, Disney calendar, Framed Disney pins, Disney and DVC magnets on my refrigerator and a framed MK citizenship from Scoop Sanderson. DW has Disney snowglobes, Pin lanyards, screensaver, desktop wallpaper, framed certificate for her birthday and MK citizenship, both from Scoop Sanderson and more framed Disney pins. And we both have lots of WDW tee-shirts and hats. Our cars both have Mickey antenna toppers and an array of stuffed Disney plushies. But I do want to support all of you that do have a problem. Remember that the first step is to admit you have a problem.:smooth: :earsboy: :earseek:  :teeth:
