We are going down for two nights next month. Normally I wouldn't do the dining plan, but we are eating at Biergarten and I ran the numbers and it would actually be a savings for this short time period. I don't know if we will do it though because of the package requirements. We only need to buy one ticket while we are there. (There will be five of us.) Do all five of us have to buy tickets in order to get the ddp?

yes, everyone on the package is required to buy the same tickets... so everyone would have to buy at least a one day pass to get the dining plan... UNLESS one of you is an annual pass holder... then you are eligible to buy the dining plan without the ticket purchase requirement...

Not only do you have purchase one for everyone in your party staying in the same room it also has to be for the entire period of your trip...so if you are staying for 6 nights you have to purchase for 6 nights....

You need to buy the DDP for every night of your package. But you only need to buy a 1 day ticket for each person in your party. Park tickets do not have to be the same number of nights as DDP.

When we booked our trip our TA had told us we had to for every night with ticket as you cannot get into the parks without a ticket for the restaurants...

Your travel agent was not exactly right.

You need to purchase the same (at least one day) ticket for each person on your reservation as part of your Magic Your Way with Dining Package, but your ticket days do NOT have to match your package nights!!!!

There is absolutely NO requirement that DDP users must dine inside a theme park on any or all days of their package; therefore, the TA's claim is not valid. There are plenty of DDP-participating restaurants in the resorts and at Downtown Disney. You need never enter a park. Period.

*IF* (and only if) the restaurants you choose are in a theme park, then yes, you need a ticket for them... *BUT* you do not need to purchase that ticket (those tickets) as part of your package beyond one day/one park... you can use leftovers, buy tickets elsewhere, have an annual pass, etc...

ergo, your travel agent totally misinformed you...

I realized you could eat outside the parks as we went to Jiko but I was not aware about the tickets...thank you for the info...
