How Many Studios?

Does anyone know how many studios each resort has? We did see the sticky link with some of the info, but most resorts say "0" is that true? In particular, we're interested in the Beach club.

BLT 133 (none "dedicated" so they result from 2br lock-off villas being split into 1 bedroom villa unit & studio unit)

AKV 296 ( of which 46 are dedicated)

BCV 110 ( of which 36 are dedicated)

BWV 246 ( of which 97 are dedicated)

OKW 230 ( none dedicated)

SSR 432 ( none dedicated )

VWL 65 ( of which 20 are dedicated)

Vero Beach 36 ( none dedicated ) note there are also 112 Inn rooms which are similar to studios & considered (by most) to be studio

Hilton Head Island 21 ( none dedicated )

Sorry, don't know info for VGC or Aulani resorts.

Lockoffs are a combination 2BR made up of a Studio and connecting 1BR villa. Many of these are reserved separately as a Studio and a 1BR. Some resorts (BWV, VWL, BCV and AKV) do have dedicated studios that do not connect to another villa.

There is no way you can guarentee that, you can request a dedicated studio, but it isn't a booking category.

I've had lousy luck on getting requests met, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

I was once told that they start planning and looking into the special requests 5 days before the arrival date. Calling again 5 or 6 days before you arrive might help get you what you need.

It isn't? For October my reservation specifically says dedicated 2 bdrm. I realize there is no complete guarentee but since it says that I figured it was at least as guarenteed as any other bookable category.

I hope so we were really hoping for 2 real beds in the second bedroom. Won't break the trip if it doesn't happen or anything though.

I think it depends on what resort/room size whether you can book that specifically. The PP said you couldn't book a dedicated studio, you are talking about a dedicated 2 BR.

Also, just be aware that at BCV, even a dedicated 2 BR doesn't guarantee 2 Qs in the 2nd bedroom. I can't speak to the other resorts - people keep telling me the answer, but I can't never remember. But BCV I know because I stayed in a dedicated 2 BR w/1Q and the sofa bed in the 2nd BR.

Two bedroom dedicateds are booking categories. At BCV, not all dedicateds have 2Queens. So there are three categories for two bedrooms at BCV - Lockoff, Dedicated and Dedicated with 2Q. (Its only BCVs that has this issue - and at OKW both studios and all two bedrooms have 2 Queens - there aren't sofabeds other than in the living room).

Dedicated studios are not booking categories. Nor are dedicated one bedrooms.

You aren't supposed to call the resort for requests, and by five or six days the reservation is at the resort.

they did have dedicated as a guaranteed booking option. but had a problem with AKV and did away with that being guaranteed.

with the value a dedicated would have guaranteed a pool or savannah view - instead they got a parking lot view.

after that DVC did away with dedicated for studios. You can definitely ask - but now don't even think the MS will tell you.

I'm so confused - I thought there were no studios next to other studios. I don't think I will ever keep all the different resort configurations and options straight. I guess I will just keep asking when I need to!

I hope I didn't confuse you too much! I don't think studios ever connect to other studios, but we were on a funny corner in the building, so we had two studios side-by-side that were each dedicated. When I say side-by-side, we couldn't touch hands while unlocking our doors, but our door was the first one and theirs was the second when coming from the elevator. Sorry if I made this worse.
