How many "structures" can you have on one site. I was thinking about having a larger tent a smaller tent for the boys and a screen room. Is that to much for the site?

also do I need to put tarp over all of it??

Help, first time camper at FW

You should be fine. You don't have to put a trap over them unless you really want too. Some people do and some don't.You'll have to make that call once you
get to FW.

You can place as many structures as you need as long as they "fit" on the site. They must be contained within the pad and driveway.

We had a little utility trailer one time that we tried to park beside the driveway to get it out of the way and got a note on my windshield.

I then pulled it up to the extra parking lot and locked it up for the week cause it just took up too much space.

I don't put a tarp over my entire site because for me it is just too much work to put it up and make sure it is tight enough for water to flow off of it instead of collecting water.

I put a shelter in front of my tent so that I have a dry place to shuck my shoes, rainsuit, and a place to sit in my chair. It keeps my tent drier and cleaner.

I just make sure I waterproof my tent thoroughly.

I definitely agree on an extra tent for your kids. Even though those family tents say they sleep 8, they are really only good for 2-3 people.

Those smaller tents that say they sleep 4 are really only good for 1 person.

My recommendation would be the larger tent, a fly in front of it, the smaller tent for the boys, a fly in front of it, and then a screen house over the picnic table in the driveway.

Our tent is 13 ft. X13 ft., DD's is 8x12 and our screen house is 15x18. Our last trip we had to call guest servess because our site was not big enough. They just told us to move to next site that was twice the size. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Thanks everyone that answered me... A HUGE help!! you can move if your site is not big enough?? approx. how big is the average sized space? :sunny:

I can't help on the square footage thing, but the tent sites in 1500 really varry in size. Some are really big and some are really small. The people that got the small site we were origanlly assigned to only had one small tent and one small car. So the small site was fine for them. Besides our 3 large structures, our Van is a full size Express. Very long, so we needed a lot of room. Try to check in early incase you have to ask for a bigger site. Also heard of people having to wait till the next day for a bigger site, and the FW people moved everything for them while they injoyed the parks. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

My recollections of Loop 1500.

1501 and 1503 seem to have plenty of of room, probably 30x30

1506 is very narrow and the grill and a tree are in a bad spot, probably only about 20 feet wide by 30 ft long.

1517 is a good size site, probably 25 wide by 40.

I've stayed in 3 different sites in 2000, all of them had plenty of room.
