How many splits can 1 trip have?

i have been contemplating and would do potentially 5 different stays in 1 trip to include a stay ay US. Wife says it’s way too many. We would be staying on average 2-3 nights each. I know it is up to us who are going but has anyone else done something similar?
Other option is 4 stays. One resort would be almost a week. One more stay that much harder?
FYI we live so far away and this is and may be last trip. Friends also tagging along. I say experience more resorts the better.

If your wife isn't onboard with this, you should listen to her. You want your last trip to be a mutually enjoyable one.

I’ve done 5 different resorts in 12 nights. No problem.

Is she the one who will end up doing most of the packing and moving? If so, her words carry more weight.

If you'll be packing and moving for the most part (and not just taking over what's normally her job, because that's stressful on her), and you can make it as seamless as possible, convince her of that. And DO it.

for marathon weekend 2014 my son and I were at pop, SSR, Music, then went to Daytona Beach (and we'd gotten very very sick 2 then 5 days into it, so we spent the days at the beach moaning and not feeling well and taking very slow, ill walks on the very cold January beach), then picked up the then-husband on our way to Universal. And then took a week-long cruise. YES it was a long trip. And most of it was spent ill. And then the then-husband came down what we were finally done with after the cruise had started. Long long trip.

But the changes in resort would have been fine if we hadn't been sick.

May I ask which resorts you are considering?

In terms of logistics, it definitely doable and WDW makes it quite easy in terms of transferring luggage. It just depends on what you are looking for in your trip. If it's experiencing different resorts, sure, go for it. But if you are doing heavy park touring, it may not be worth it. I would just suggest trying to pack as lightly as possible and stay organized to make it as easy as possible.

The only way we would do that many is if it was a park heavy trip. This way we are in the parks while our stuff is being transferred and we are "homeless". If we're in the parks, not having our stuff or a "home" is a complete non issue. IF it's more of a resort heavy trip, we'd rather have a 2 resort split.

Oh my, it would be too much for me, but I like to settle in the room and call it home. If you wife is not on board with that many splits I would pare them down a bit. Personally, I would schedule meals in different resorts and see them that way.

We've done 5 different resorts on one trip to WDW. I can't really say it's the most relaxing thing, but you do get to experience more resorts that way. We felt like we were constantly moving / in and out of our suitcases....again, not the most relaxing thing but if trying out the different resorts is your cup of tea then go for it! Sometimes it's the only way to experience some of the deluxe resorts. They are expensive, and staying in one for an entire week can be costly.

We love switching and have never had much of an issue with other than missing a nap time when my kiddos were smaller.

Our upcoming trip has 3 n VWL, 3 n BLT, 2n OKW with the last 2 splits spent with friends.

One thing to consider is that every time you make a move, you are essentially homeless for the middle part of every day. If someone gets sick, they could end up without a bed to head back to for rest. That's a lot of money to pay for a place to be when you really won't have a place to be so much of the time.

We spent 16 nights in Hawaii and moved between 4 resorts. 3 nights at 3 of the hotels, and 6 nights at the last. We enjoyed it and even though it was a lot of moving around, it was never much of a hassle. Packing cubes and hanging toiletry bags make packing and unpacking time minimal and easy.

That said, Hawaii is a different vacation than WDW and we have only ever moved to a Universal hotel. Never done a split stay between WDW hotels. For us, we choose the hotel we like based on the amenities and want the time at the resort to enjoy those amenities. We like to mentally check-out at Disney and "take care of business" only at the start and end of our trip. It also would prevent you from taking advantage of sending purchases back to your resort, because you generally need 1-2 days to allow for this. Might also cause Magic Band complications, but I'm not sure.

I would not do that many resort changes unless I was staying a month or more. Too much time packing up. Too much time spent moving. Too much time spent feeling "homeless".

I once did an offsite/onsite/US stay when the kids were tweens. That was a 10-night trip (3-5-2 nights). It wasn't too bad because we had those 5 nights in the middle and you really don't need more than 2 nights at US. But it was hectic enough to convince me that I'm not cut out for multiple splits. I sometimes end up with a single night on our first night due to lack of DVC availability or the need to conserve points. But 5 different resorts in one trip? :faint:

Our last trip we did 6 resorts in 16 days. That was a bit too much but we got to stay at 4 places we had never done before. I have done many split stays and it has been fine. The only issue is if you really want to go back to your room on move day and the room is not ready. For us packing is easy an we always have a car.

I really never understood split stays of less than 4-5 nights at each. I guess if you just wanted to say that you stayed there, but I'm sorry, you cannot really get a true feel of a resort with just being there a couple of nights.

My opinion no such thing as too many. Though I would include I never unpack anyway even if we stay in 1 room 2 weeks
We arrived this past Wednesday at midnight. Stayed at Hyatt at airport
My only room request when we do splits is always a room ready early if possible, I never care where
Checked in to CR CL for 1 night (got room at 4:00ish)
Checked in to WL for 1 night (got room at 10 am)
Next is YC for 1 night (ETA - got this room at 11:30)
Next is BWI CL due 2 nights
