How Many Soarin Locations Have you been to?

I always thought that the orange groves (framed by the Eucalyptus trees) was the Camarillo segment ? Having lived in Ventura county for 29 years, I think I could drive you to the spot !

I think Mary Jo is referencing Fresno for the orange groves. It looks more like Santa Paula to me.

I'll have to pay closer attention to the locations shown on the tv screen during the final leg of the queue to know for sure.

I was voting for Santa Paula! :lmao: I believe Camarillo is listed on the TV screen.

OP: I have visited all the locations except I have not been to Napa Valley for some reason. And I was born in CA and lived there twice as an adult (though sadly, not since 2003). I will always feel like California is my home no matter where I end up.

You all HAVE to go to Napa! The wineries are amazing. We've joined a wine club so we have to go up every other month to pick up our shipments - lovely way to spend the day.

I've never been to Anza-Borrego, Camarillo or Palm Springs. Day trips for me are to SF, Napa, Redwood Creek and Yosemite (where I haven't been in years!)

Now I'm longing to be on Soarin'!!

I've always been fairly certain that the orange groves are in the Fillmore/Santa Paula/Piru area. I'm only about 15-20 miles away, I've been through there frequently as a child, and now drive that route on a regular basis to get to Ventura.

Also, could have sworn that the scene with the jets flying across the desert was Edwards Air Force Base. Where is that in fact supposed to be?

I'm not sure where the orange groves are - I think I got the locations off of Wikipedia, so they could be wrong about that.

The jets flying across are at Anza Borrego.

I'm pretty sure the orange groves are in Camarillo also. There is nothing else that could have been there.

I am not a CA person but through the process of deduction, they have to be in Camarillo. There is no place else left from the opening sequence on the TV when you are lined up outside the ride.

What river is it where several people are river rafting at the beginning of Soarin'?

I'm having a hard time picturing the exact scene, so I could be wrong. But I always assumed that it was the Merced River through Yosemite.

I don't think its the Merced because it isn't that wide. I could be wrong though.

Total newbie (and lurker :)) but just wanted to say the orange groves scene is Camarillo. I grew up there. It has been a few years since I have been on Soarin but I believe I know where the grove was and it is no longer there. Houses now if I'm thinking of the right location. Oh and I've been to all the places except Yosemite National Park and Anza-Borrego Desert State Park I believe.

When we were in WDW we did Soarin, when it first takes you over the Golden Gate, my daughter started yelling, pointing between her legs, "I work right back there."

Then when you are going over the Delta, my son is yelling "I caught a fish right there, and there, and there."

As we were leaving someone said I bet we can guess you guys are from California. We all laughted.
