Ok, I got my "Dream" book and am trying to plan down the road. Right now, my son and daughter are 5 years and 7 months old. Not a problem with them sleeping in the same bed for the next couple of years, so a studio or one bedroom won't be a problem. But what about you guys with older kids? (that are of different genders?) Especially when they get bigger and are teenagers! I can't afford to get a villa every time we go just so they can each have their own bedroom! help!

We have been trying to figure out how to take our niece and our new step nephew - niece is turning 10 - nephew is turning 14. The best plan we've come up with in an air bed for one of them and changing in the bathroom for all.

You're right that you have a while before you have to change your vacation habits. We have just recently (in the past few years) faced the same situation with our DD16 and DS12. We started booking 2 bedrooms so that they would not have to share a bed, but they still have to share a room. I don't intend to get a GV so they can each have their own room...I figured if they needed privacy they could step into the bathroom.

We did have to do an add-on so that our vacations could be spent in larger units. It was worth it just so I didn't have to keep fooling with the sofa bed every evening! Enjoy your time while they are little..they grow up very quickly.

Please visit our Occupancy thread for further discussion. It can be located in the Ongoing Discussion Thread stuck on top of the boards. Thank you.
