Wow...you have some great shots of the parade....so nice!

I couldn't agree with you more....I must prefer Basin in the GF.....we always go early before our dinner plans to stop and make our purchases!

We had a great character experience at 1900 Park Fare, but the food left a lot to be desired for us so we wouldn't go back either. We paid OOP here in January and I was really disappointed in the cost to what was offered.

I think there's one bad meal on every trip, whether it's food, service, ambiance, or a combination there of. This was yours. Sorry.

I don't know why it was so disappointing. I think Chef Mickey's was so great because my expectations were low. This one my expectations were high and they faltered.

Who doesn't love Basin, though? I actually prefer the one in the GF to the one in Downtown. Don't know why, just like how it's more intimate of a setting .

I like the one in the GF better, as well. I found it to have a better selection.

Yeah, I think I would be real disappointed if I paid oop for 1900 Park Fare.

I'll be honest and tell you this--I bring a tripod for night shots. I think this year, I'm going to rent a locker to put it in. I just hope it fits.

Last Day--Sunday, June 6, 2010

Wow, I can't believe we're at the last day. We got up that muggy Sunday morning and headed to. . .

Our last day is always in one of two places. If we are staying that night and getting up the next morning to drive home, it's Magic Kingdom. If we are touring a little our last day in the World, we go to Animal Kingdom. This trip, our package was followed by a one day room only reservation.

We went directly into Magic Kingdom and did something we have never done upon entering.

Typically at rope drop, we either go to Tommorrowland or Fantasyland. Late in the afternoon, we go to Adventureland first.

Today, we were up for a rip-roarin' time. We went to Frontierland.

And we rode this 3 times consecutively with the wait time you see posted here:

Yes. Five minutes. For an early morning, sometimes you just want a gentler ride. Big Thunder Mountain isn't exactly that, but it certainly is no Small World!

From there, we watched people fly down

A 45 minute wait, but with breakfast reservations at 10:40, we did not want to chance it. By this time, it's about 9:45 and Boo and Daddy decided it was time to revive Boo and Daddy day, if only for a moment.

Of course, we were heading to:

Ride number 5!

At some point the kids realized that they were hungry. They wanted ice cream, but breakfast was in a few minutes. We boarded Magic Carpets with a frustrated Dad who had to say no and some mad kids.

Thanking goodness we were off the carpets, we headed towards breakfast at Crystal Palace.

Nope, no ice cream--the kids love breakfast, and I didn't want them not to eat at this one.

We've done Crystal Palace for dinner twice. We've done it for lunch once. Everyone on the Dis raves about the breakfast there. So I thought, Why not. Try the breakfast.

A few minutes before the adr time, I checked in our party of five and was handed a buzzer. We sat across from a huge party of about twelve and commenced the waiting.

It was there that I saw a perfect photograph.

This is my current wallpaper on my phone.

We waited for about 5-10 minutes, then our buzzer went off. Yay! Breakfast! And miraculously, the whole debacle with the ice cream was averted.

Now I love Crystal Palace for one major reason--Boo loves Piglet. She absolutely has always loved Piglet. We have about a million little Piglets all over the house. We were just about to go get breakfast when we saw this fellow:

We commenced to get breakfast before Piglet got there. Then he comes by:

It was between Eeyore and Tigger that I bit into the things that I consider little pieces of heaven--the puffed french toast in Pooh corner. Light, yummy, fluffy, and paired with fresh fruit from the bar, perhaps the best known breakfast food to man.

It was around this time, the family was seated next to us. The couple, one the little boy called "Dad" and the other "Uncle" had a little boy who was obviously adopted based on his vastly different racial makeup. He wanted to talk to my kids so badly, and the parents continued to tell him, "Don't bother them." Well, Boo says, "He can talk to me." That was all it took for the boy to be given the green light.

Long story short, we stayed at Crystal Palace much longer than we normally would have, enjoying our company. We got up to leave and dh says, "I have a blister on my foot."

I told him to wear socks with his Crocs. He did not listen. So we head over toMain Street for a gift shop. On the way, of course he decides to be a kid and play in the water fountain.

How did I miss this update!!!! I'm glad to see pics of CP. Of course you know we're going there on Sunday and I'm still feeling a little uneasy about going for dinner..and period really. I hope that it's good! I've eaten at a TON of WDW restaurants but somehow missed this one..and the Castle too..hm.. We'll see how it goes!!

Thanks. Boo loves Crystal Palace. We have never been as a family and did not have at least one meal there. I've never done it to get into the park early, but it's something I want to do someday.

I know with the ice cream. They knew, but they also had spent a lot of days not being told no. We just rarely do it on vacation.

It's funny that one thing the kids really wanted to do was explore Tom Sawyer's Island. Now, you know, I'm not really a playground type person. I'll walk around, but I won't do much else.

But I had promised and I try to keep promises. And a walk of some sorts was definitely in order after breakfast!

So, we headed on over to the island:

When we got over there, the first thing I thought was, "This is supposed to be Mississippi? It looks like we took a quick boat home."

Let me tell you, though: I was wrong about the island. Very wrong. The kids and the adults really enjoyed it.

Walking across the rope bridge, Stinky and dh decided to jump up and down.

I got some beautiful pictures of the Haunted Mansion.

The best part, I think, was the fort. The underground tunnel was awesome. I only had one mistake to point out the Disney Imagineers: in the fort, there is a chicken presumably laying an egg. That chicken, if you look closely, is not a hen. It's a rooster. And I'll eat a hundred churos if a rooster has ever laid an egg.

After our little adventure, we headed back on the boat to the other side. We walked back towards Fantasyland through Liberty Square.

I'm one of those people who get a little annoyed and excited at the same time when I see all of the refurbishment signs at Disney. I know something great is coming, but I also know that I'm missing out on a lot. So, as I headed over to Winnie the Pooh, my heart did what I can only call a fraction of a backflip as I walked by the walls:

Really, typically I spend a lot of time in Fantasyland, but it really didn't feel like Fantasyland to me. It felt like refurbishment land. I decided I'd make the best of it, though, so I hopped on one ride that makes me smile every time.

Boo was really happy to see Piglet again, as I was thankful Winds-day was over for the 100 Acre Wood. And those Heffalumps and Woosles didn't stand a chance of stealing Pooh's huney with us there!

After Pooh, we decided it was time for a break. So, we walked the long way around by the teacups.

You may ask why I didn't go the other way.

Well, I had to get this picture:

Walking around, we stepped in front of the castle and looked at it a little more:

And I just love this angle of Mickey and Walt.

And then, just to take a few more pictures, I grabbed the photopass photographer:

This is probably my favorite of the entire family.

We had promised Sweetie one more trip to Basin, so I obliged:

We stopped by the food court at the Grand Floridian and I was surprised how different things were there. And now it's been so long, I can't put my finger on it, but sooner or later I'll figure it out!

By that time, it was getting late, and I needed to stop by the front desk at POR. We had ended our trip with a 1 day room only reservation. The CMs were really nice and allowed us to stay in the same room. So I actually had a little surcee for them. I knew the manager (who is who I spoke to earlier) had spent extra time with me and that she would be working the same time the next day. She saw me in line and asked me what I needed. While I was waiting, she stayed in line with me and went to the reservation desk.

Further, even though I did not know it at the time, she had them go ahead and check us out and back in, so when I came in the next morning, I had nothing to do but pick up the room keys.

Anywho, I had picked up something for her at Basin, so I wanted to bring it to her. But I also did it anonymously--just left it at the front desk with her name on it--because I didn't want her getting in trouble for accepting something she should not have.

Anywho, long story short, I had a mission back at POR, and so after the Grand Floridian, we hopped back on the monorail for our last ride there, and then back to POR for a rest and for me to use my ninja stealth skillz to sneak a package with the CM's name on it to the front desk being unseen.

Which is difficult at Disney, let me tell you.
