How Many Rides on Pirates of the Caribbean are Enough? Now Completed 11/4/10

So, we rolled ourselves out of Chefs de France and walked over to Test Track.

What a beautiful sight.

Remember all of those people who were getting fastpasses earlier? Well they came back. All at the same time.

The same time we came back.

A change in pace was needed. We walked over to the locale of a certain yellow-tight wearing computer programmer and couldn't find the last gear in Mouse Gears.

Eventually, we made our way back:

Again, we had a blast, then went over to:

The clouds were beginning to roll in for the afternoon storm, so we took another ride on Misson: SPACE. Of course, when I came out, we had to get this picture:

And like a flash, our time at Epcot Future World was over. We had done all we wanted to over there, ridden all the rides we wanted to, and were content with our day. There was plenty to do over at the World Showcase, including dinner. What?!? We had to eat again?!?

At this conjecture, I don't even want to take a stab at how long we were in Furture World. It had to be late in the afternoon by the time we left. I know for certain we were hot. Hot enough to stop off at the African oupost (again, with the clockwise, lol) for one of these:

We rested in the African Outpost for some time and let the kids play the drums

Not too long after that, we went on to dinner at Tutto Italia. This is my kids' favorite place at Disney, believe it or not. They are spaghetti and pizza and lasagna eaters, so it's a good match for them.

Now, Dan by this time was tired of soda, so he ordered the iced tea here. The lack of sweet tea at Disney has always floored me. We've been told we are too far South for sweet tea. HUH? When did that become the norm? And does it happen at the border of Georgia and Florida, or nearer to I-4. Either way, Dan ordered the tea here, which was infused with peach.

This was the best drink we had at Disney. It was just sweet enough, light, and refreshing. And if any Disney CMs are reading this, adding sweet tea to menus would be a good plan!

Moving ahead, we walked a bit further, because I knewit was our last foray into Epcot, and I could not leave without a Grey Goose slush. . .

and I did not.

We took a friendship boat back across the World Showcase lagoon, where they appeared to be readying for Illuminations. By this time, it was after 7pm, and we had been in Epcot since rope drop. As we floated along, I snapped one last shot.

Goodbye Epcot, we'll miss you.

What a great Epcot Day! I just love that park. There is so much to do and see. Glad to hear your kids like Tutto Italia. We have an ADR scheduled there in January.

I've never had the grey goose slushie, but everyone makes it sound sooo good! Maybe next time.

Love the pictures of the kids with the astronaut hats on, and playing the drums. Too much fun, says I.

I agree with you, WDW needs needs needs sweet tea!! Sweet tea is everywhere in Cincinnati. I can't think of a restaurant that we've gone to that doesn't have sweet tea or can't make it somehow!

I haven't tried the Grey Goose slushie before but I've had the other one and it was yummy!!!

Ok, the African Outpost thing just reminded me of an incident that happened there in May (it was all queued up for the last installment or so of my solo TR, which alas still sits undone....). But it's too funny not to share.....

I was making my [counter-clockwise] way around World Showcase; had done about all I wanted to so was heading around towards Mexico and the bridge to FW. As I passed the African Outpost, I overhear a guy say to his kid:

"No, we're not going there....We're in Disneyland, we're not here to do Africa stuff."




Clearly the man had no true concept of where he actually was! It was bad enough that he thought somehow he was in southern CA......but HOW can you be in World Showcase and not get the international theme??! I had to stifle a snortlaugh SO badly. I wonder if he's ever been to Animal Kingdom?....or even Adventureland, for that matter?!! Too stinkin' funny....

I thought you'd like those. I like giving the kids a chance to be kids. Of course, with them being their age, they don't really need us in there with them. But for some reason, we do it anyway.

I either get a slushie or a glass of champagne there. Usually if it's cold, I'll get the champagne, and if it's warm, I'll get the slush.

LOL, today it's French Quarter, but from time to time I think of saving a little money (albeit only $200) and staying at POP Century. I've changed back and forth between the two a couple of times.

Day 8: Saturday, June 5, 2010

Having never done AM EMH at Animal Kingdom, we thought, well, let's try it. It's a slap directly in the face of Tour Guide Mike and Unofficial Guide enthusiasts, but hey, why not?

Live a little, right?

After all, all bets were on a massive crowd at Hollywood Studios between Star Wars and I believe that was the location for Gay Days. I'm not sure, but my bets were that AM EMH would not be as crowded as it would be a few miles down the road with the Storm Troopers locking people in.

We went through the stiles at Animal Kingdom early that morning. As a matter of fact, we were the second car parked at Animal Kingdom that day.

Dude.

And, what about the crowds?

Well, there they are:

Everybody seemed to be heading through Asia to go left to the Safari or right to Expedition Everest. We took a different right to go to Everest:

So did a few others:

And we made it:

We rode everest, got off, and got fastpasses. The time on the fastpasses were like 9:00am. I know, crazy.

But this ride was crazier than most. When we got on EE, Stinky told his father to pretend to be picking his nose when the camera came up. He, as a matter of fact, dared Dan to do it.

Typically, I'll get a redneck picture for myself, but honestly, I couldn't stop laughing. We should have bought it. Everyone pointing at the picture and then pointing at my husband, saying, "Good one." Just as pretty as day, it appeared that my husband was picking his nose at the top of Expedition Everest.

I heard people say, "I'm going to do that."

I didn't know whether to laugh more or die of embarassment.

Having finished the ride, we decided to go to Kali River Rapids, which, of course, was not open yet. We went on to the safari. We could not, though, continue without my husband acting like a big kid with the drums:
