How Many Rides on Pirates of the Caribbean are Enough? Now Completed 11/4/10

Great updates! And a big congrats on the spectacular room assignment. If you remember from December we were in the middle of nowhere! :lmao: December was our 1st trip to POR and we loved it! It simply feels like home! Can't wait to get back there!

And as for rope drop at MK, count me in as one of those teary-eyed girls! It is my favorite place to be!

WOW! You guys got a lot done that morning!!! Love the pics!

I love the Dumbo pic of your DH. It's too funny thinking of you with your cell checking out the wait times like that commercial.

And than you for remembering my mom with another very special lady, your mom! It was so sweet of you to do that memorial ride and it still means so much to me. I'm glad to know that we were thought of, and I promise you, the next time I get on POTC, I will happily return the favor.

The schedule got fuxed but it is a bear before I leave. loving the trip report so far

I'm enjoying catching up on your TR. It's awesome... I think you could be my twin... I do the same thing, take pictures of THE SIGN... on the way in, so I know we've officially arrived.. and seeing all of your pics is making me so excited. It was like re-living my last trip,,, arriving @ POR, and getting to my room, everything is beautiful there, I can't wait till Sept. We'll be home again. Like you, we only fit in POR with the trundle for now, until baby turns 3. I never thought of requesting a building.. I've requested 1st floor though, just because of having a stroller, and no elevators. Last time we ended up pretty far from the main bldg, whic we didn't mind too much since the walk to our room is so beautiful.. of course there were times I wish we were a little closer, when we had sleepy kids. I wonder if I should request a specific bldg. I should check the map again... any suggestions.. in addition to bldg. 14? Of course our first stop is always MK.. Ok.. like TK, we've never done the rope drop... we've never gottten there that early.. so, now, I am going to have to do it this next trip if it kills me to get everyone up, and out. What time is rope drop, and how early do you have to get there? Do you think if we have an ADR for 10:10 at Ohana for breakfast... will we make it to rope drop, and to the ADR???? Maybe I should change my ADR. Has anyone done Ohana for breakfast? Is it worth it? We're not usually early people, so we've never done breakfasts before.
Can't wait to hear more about your wonderful trip. seeing the pics, is like being there with you.

I love Haunted Mansion and POTC too. We didn't ride Dumbo. Looks like I would enjoy the view though.

THe view on Dumbo is awesome. This was only my second Dumbo ride, but definitely not my last ever--we will have to do the Dumbo stampede our first day from here on.

Wow! You guys are bookin' it thru the park! :yay: So impressed with all you have done so far and you still have the whole day ahead of you!

POTC IS HANDS DOWN MY FAVORITE. pirate:

We did get a lot done that morning. And I think a lot of people love POTC.

POR is a great resort. I have said I would not go back because of the buses, but I think all of the resorts may feel the same--crowded buses and waiting along time for them.

Thanks!

I did check the wait times, but not during the stampede. That would have been too much. It was nice remembering your mom on that day--I think my mom would have been proud, as well. She did love her some Johnny Depp. . .

You could almost definitely get over to Ohana from the rope drop, but I would recommend to be on the safe side, don't use the monorail. Take the ferry to the Ticket and Transportation Center then you are right next to the Polynesian and can walk.

As far as buildings go, 15, 16, 17, and 18 are good choices along with 14.

Good point. . .my life's desire is the be stopped at the end when Jack is surrounded with gold long enough to take a good picture (nonflash, of course). Still hasn't happened, so I'll keep trying.

You know, when that happened to Mom and I, it never occured to me to take out my camera. Possibly because my camera isn't good enough to get a non flash photo of Jack, but also because I was so distracted by his dialogue. :lmao:

My gracious! You have been able to do so much in so little time!

It really was a terrific morning!

LOL--I have been stopped there for a long time before. I get mesmerized and forget to take the picture. There's always a "Have to Do" that I try tog et one. I got one struck off this trip (which I will allude to later), but the picture of Jack stays on the top of the list.

Great trip report so far! I love POR. :)

:welcome: and Thanks!

I worte down the unoffical guide's app is that the whole name? great up date!

It's called WDW Lines. I love having it on my Droid. I think it's available for Droid, iPhone, and Blackberry. UG was great about having it for all of them.

What a good Dumbo pic!

I missed riding that this year...we really should have done it, though. :sad2:

Isn't it amazing all you can get done the first hour in the park! I just love rope drops!

I have a small confession. . .Until this trip I had never ridden the People Mover. Never. After riding POTC, we decided it would be a good time to check out the wait time for Space Mountain, grab fastpasses, and split up for a little bit. DH and DS went to ride the Tomorrowland Speedway, while the girls and I got FPs for Space Mountain.

Walking back, the were trying to think of something to do. With no great ideas, we got in line for the People Mover. I have to admit, I was skeptical. But I hopped onboard.

And we loved it. It was fun being relaxed for a little while and riding through Tomorrowland. There are also great views of the castle from there.

My girls on the People Mover.

As we walked back over to the Speedway, it was just in time to see DH and DS coming to the end of the trail.

Who gave him a driver's license, anyway?

Such a look of concentration!

We then got lunch at Cosmic Ray's, which is by far my favorite CS at MK, and then used our Fastpasses for. . .

And my son, scared to death of a roller coaster exclaimed, "That's my favorite ride!"

We grabbed more fps on the way out, with a return time after our dinner reservations, and then headed back to the room. Before we left, we stopped in for a Photopass op. . .

We then got to our room and settled in for a rest. Like other rooms at POR AB, it was same-old, same-old. Yet this was very comforting to me.

Beautiful pictures. I've never done a rope drop, but that looks like so much fun! I can't wait to see more!

I can't believe that was your first time on the TTA! I love that ride! Though my boys didn't want to ride it this past trip. It's such a nice break, and it's so nice to know there is a ride in Tomorrowland with virtually no line. (Though I suppose Carousel of Progress fits that criteria too.)
