How many PS or Advanced reservations do you make

On average how many sit down meals do you plan for your trip?

We have on anverage one per day, but we do have 2 days with 2 sit down meals planned.

I'm an obsessive planner so I plan all meals. This time we are doing some counter service meals (due to the new dining plan) but for the most part, I plan two table service meals a day. It helps us get out of the heat and helps us retain our energy. Ten days of theme parks can get tiring.

But really...it's all up to the individual family. :) Also...we travel with a baby so "down time" is a MUST for us! :)

We like one sit down meal a day. We did have one day where we had two sit down meals in one day, but if I were to do that again I would make sure they were spaced farther apart...a noon lunch and then a 5:00 dinner was just a bit too close for us.

I almost always have a PS planned for all our dinners because I like to have the family sit down and wind down a bit toward the end of each day and it's just so much more relaxing to me to know ahead of time where we'll go and when. I never make lunch PS because during the day we're either running around the parks or swimming in the pools and a quickie bite somewhere works best then. And lastly, I usually make 1 or 2 breakfast PS during our trips and sometimes I'll go for later times (more like a "brunch" time) so that on those days we might have a quick bowl of cereal or a bagel early and eat more in late morning so then we can really skip lunch. And no matter what the season or crowd predictions I ALWAYS have at least one meal PS for each day - I'm way too WDW-OCD not too have my plans in place.
(PS=AR, old habits die hard) :upsidedow

I'll be making 21 ADRs for our Aug 2wk vacation
Mostly brkfst and late lunches

We have one/day planned, a mixture of lunch and dinner, with one breakfast.

I also generally make only 1 PS a day. If I make 2 it is usually a late breakfast or early lunch and dinner after 6PM.

for my 9 day vacation we have 8 dinners and 2 breakfasts. If we change our minds while there its easier to call and cancel than to try to get a quick table for 10

The only PS seating I have made in the past before leaving was for show time venues, like the luau and the Hoop. This year there will be 10 of us going but even if there weren't I feel that I know have to PS the restaurants that I would normally wait 2 days before dining and schedule while on vacation. Right now I have 7 planned for 10 days. This is to include the "must do's". I made PS seating for CG 89 days from now for four adults at 9 pm. I took the last table! After 25 years of visiting WDW, the crunch for PS is burdensome. To me it takes away from a spontaneous vacation. I asked the dining reservationist what she thinks is causing the problem and she said she doesn't know but they have never been so busy. No doubt its the dining plan. In the past, I had been told that 40% of the tables are PS'd and that they "save" the remaining, depending upon the restaurant for walk ups or same day bookings. That no longer seems to be the case. I almost feel that its akin to someone "saving" a table at counter service restaurant because their family is somewhere in line. That leaves the family with food in their hands looking for a table while the other family is just waiting. Because that is the trend, the waiting family almost has no choice but one wonders if they limited the PS, more last minute planners would be accommodated. I don't know what the answer is, but I have fallen into the trap of PSing. Normally we walk up to Teppanyaki too but now I guess I will have to "plan" that.

I should add, the reservationist said that its almost impossible to get a tables anywhere for the end of May and that isn't even the busy time.

DawnCt, I feel your pain.

This is our first trip and we got the dining plan (that's $1,035 for the four of us). When I was looking into everything, I started reading complaints about how hard it is just to walk up and get table service, so we made a PS for table service for every day of our stay!

I don't like having to play where and when I'm going to eat 90 days in advance! What happened to spontaneity?

Who knows, maybe it is the dining plan, but who can blame us for wanting to make sure we are able to get what we're paying for?

For Family trips - I make one PS a day. For solo or Mom & Son trips, we might only make one PS per trip.

I have also noticed that it is becoming increasingly necessary to have a PS for sit-downs. We saw many people being turned away from walk-ins during our 4/15-4/24 trip. I have never seen that before - a long wait - yes. But to be told they weren't accepting any walk-ins was something I have never seen before.

For my upcoming trip I made one PS dinner per day and then, 2 character breakfasts. Don't know if we'll make all the dinners but usually we do. If something comes up we'll cancel them. But I pretty much plan which parks we are going to be at for each day of our trip and planned PSs around that schedule. I love planning. We usually only eat one big meal per day on our trip. We eat breakfast in our villa (we are staying at a DVC resort). Then, depending on if we are hungry we'll grab a lunch. Usually the kids are so, they will definitely eat. Then, dinner around 6:30 pm. On the breakfast character meal days we'll probably skip lunch and have a light snack in the afternoon. I like how a lot of the carts are selling fruit. Or has it always been that way and I've just eaten the bad stuff...

For our upcoming trip I have 5 sit down dinners and CRT breakfast already scheduled. I'm glad I did now after hearing some people being turned away from some restaurants.

I went last year the 2nd week in June and regretted only making one PS. I went back last Oct with PS's for everyday( 1 a day)--works out great!! I have made 10 for my next trip as stated earlier. Yes the MYW ticket is impacting--no doubt--

Having an AP pass allows us to move freely and park hop--I am happy to have my AP!!

We go in July and we have three small children. So, we make at least 1 and lots of times 2 PS (at least that's what I've always called them) per day. We can always cancel if we change our minds but I don't want to be wandering around in the hot July sun with three hungry kids and no where to eat!

In the past, we usually did 1 per day, maybe 2 on days that we did breakfasts. But DH was diagnosed with celiac's a couple of months ago. So for our trip in a couple of weeks, I have 17 PS made for our 9 night trip, and I am thinking of making more. It seems that the table service meals will be able to accomodate his dietary restrictions well, but I haven't gotten any answers regarding gluten free counter service meals. Expensive, but what do we do? So....we'll see, I guess.

We always make 1 PS for every night we will be there, except when we're in Epcot, in which case I've made 2 or even 3 PS. You just never know what you might be in the mood for :confused3 , and it's impossible to walk in to the restaurants for dinner at any reasonable time!
