I also posted this on the DVC Board.

We are looking into joining DVC. We love cruising and would like information on how many points it takes per person to cruise. I have looked at the charts on the resorts but can't find anything about the cruises. Thanks!

Here's an example:

3 day Wonder, Regular Season, Cat. 6:
(2003) 141 per adult
53 per child Age 3-12

7 day Magic, Regular Season, Cat. 6:
(2003) 237 per adult (Eastern Itin.)
96 per child 3-12 (Eastern Itin.)

(2003) 247 per adult (Western Itin.)
110 per child 3-12 (Western)

LG123,
Hey there from another Buckeye! :)

The points range so much depending on what time of year you cruise and what category.
It's probably best to check out www.disneyvacationclub.com They have the point charts for the cruises on there. I believe you go to them main site and then click on ?Planning, then ?Disney collection.
Sorry for being vague. The DVC site is "temporarily busy" right now so I can't get exact things!

Many won't use their points for a cruise as it's not a "good use" of their points. But for some it's the only way to make a cruise affordable enough. We recently paid points for the adults in the group, but then paid cash for the kids. You just need to look at the charts, look at home many points you have to play with and determine if it's the right thing for you to do. :)

I just emailed you a pdf file with the 2004 points for all 4 cruises. Hope it helps!:D

Some of this depends on the family situation. We are DVC and cruising IN 3 WEEKS!!! and used points for all but our youngest--but we have to have a cat. 4 or two smaller rooms because we have 3 kids. If you only have 2 kids, you have many more options available to you.

here is the anwser ..... DVC is www.disneyvacationclub.com
check it out... it is a Disney time share...

for us that is way to many points to go on a cruise ......
since points do have a value, about $10.00 a piece
it would cost u 1400.00 per person when u can get cruise
for a round $800.00 ... but they r your points do what u want..
we would rent points on the dis rent trade forum and use moneys from that to cruise..... some people use points for one person and pay dvc the cash rate for others ... would help defer the cash out lay .... but we would rent them out and use dreams to make a cash reservation
