Does anyone know how many points tickets are available for any given Southwest flight?

My wife and I each got the Chase card, 50,000 points, specifically to book air for nine in October 2012. At current rates that could get us up to eight of those tickets. We plan to book separately, four by her, five by me (paying for one), at the same time using two PCs when the booking window is available.

Now I start worrying there may be a limit to the number of free tickets available, so we maybe have to start planning for separate flights?

From the Southwest rapids Rewards website:

Unlimited reward seats.

If there is a seat available, you can redeem your points for it.

No blackout dates.

We've done away with blackout dates, which means your choices and your possibilities are now wide open.

Your 50,000 points are free for you to use as you see fit. You can buy as many as you want within the 50,000. HTH!

Thanks - was in such a hurry to get the card before booking that I missed all that fine print - you know, the fine print showing all of this splashed across the Rapid Rewards page, great big huge letters, (sigh. . .) If it were a snake it would have bit me.

You will be able to use your points without restrictions; however, the more expensive the flight, the more points you will need to use, so even when using the points try to watch for sales, etc, to reduce the number of points you will have to spend on the tickets.
