How many points do you own?

Hi - I'm sure there is a thread on this but I was wondering how many points do people on the dis boards own. Also, what amount is considered a lot? What is average? I have 330 and was wondering about where that fell in? (of course, I am always looking to add on!). Missy

Our initial purchase in 1993 was 190 which I think was the buy-in requirement at the time. We've added on twice since then, once for 35 and once for 100, for a total of 325. I've just begun to look for one more small contract (55 points ideally) so that we have an even number for inheritance purposes.

Our initial purchase in 2000 was 240 HH points. We added 100 SSR points in I think 2006 and another 160 SSR points in 2009 for a total of 500 points. I think we are done but I thought that before.

We started with 200 BLT last spring and added another 50 when DH decided he can't possibly ever stay in anything less than a 1 bedroom. In a year or two we're planning to add on some OKW.

We own 90. Started w/ a 25 pt. resale (to add a few days to our off-site stay every year and get the AP discount). Then added 25 more through Disney a few months later. Then bought a 40 pt resale a few months after that. Right now we're happy w/ studios for the 4-5 days we are on-site because we stay for a week off-site in a 3 BR w/ kitchen a washer. As the kids get a bit older, though I'm sure we'll want a 1 BR and we'll probably add on some more.

We own a total of 300. We intially bought resale VWL 150 pt in April 2008. We were hooked instantly and I got addonitis real bad. So in late 2008 I added on 50 pts at HHI (resale) and early 2009 added 100 pts at BCV (resale). We are very happy with our purchases as it will allow our family to have at least 2 vacations a year.

We have 225 points at VWL. We started with 100 points (resale) in 2007, then added 25 VWL points in 2009 from Disney and then another 100 VWL points (resale) this summer. I think we are done now......

We own 180 points at BLT. Was planning an add on of another 25 just this month but are putting that on hold until all the financial aid letters come for my DD who heads off to college next year.

Wouldn't you know that her first choice is also the MOST expensive? The only good thing is that they advertise that interships at Disney are a possibility!!!!

The 180 will work for now and we did have extra points from 2009 so if we plan it right, will be okay for a few more years.

I own 200 at BLT, and from day 1 I have been considering adding on points. It is just my fiance and I right now, but my family also travels to Disney every year and it's great to be able to take people with us! Also I LOVE the ability to stay for longer and/or at MUCH nicer places I am a POP Century convert...can't wait to come home in September (although technically my first trip "Home" I am staying at BWV - not my home resort)!

We own 545 points - 175 @ BCV, 170 @ VWL and 200 @ OKW, all resale contracts. I would like to own about 200 more points so that we could have a 2 bedroom for 8-9 days twice a year. We really want to own at BWV but the high MF keep me from buying that resale contract I've been watching.

We own 450 pts. -- 300 at OKW & 150 at BWVs. We love taking family (DD, DSIL, 3DGC) with us as well as extended family. When it is just my DH & I we like staying in a 1br. Our first contract was purchased through Disney (150 pts.) and second one for 150 pts. was resale. We bought BWVs last fall through resale as well. Think we're done!

i started with 150 BWV resale points. I added on 4 times in 50 point increments thru Disney. Last summer I added 100 BLT points to use every third year the second week in Dec. The other years I'll use BWV for Dec. And I use BWV for Food and Wine and Flower and Garden.

we bought in at vero beach for the 150... back then it was vb or boardwalk dont know what we were thinking but boardwalk would have been better for us... but then we bought in again at ssr for 82 then another 100 at ssr.. so we have 332.. only if dvc was as cheap as it was when we bought into vero beach!!! i c an only imagine what the buy in cost was for the others.. does anyone know how much it was for okw or hh
