How many points can you rent?

We are not DVC owners, ...(edited to remove specifics details)......... We would like to stay together, ........ ...... The "for rents" I see are no where near as many points as .......need......

Note to OP: DIS doesn't allow rental posts (or those that could be so construed) anywhere except on the Rent/Trade Board. General questions are welcome and I edited your post to make it more general. Thanks for understanding.

Every now & again I see a "for rent" posting that offers that many points...but it's hit or miss, to be sure...you can try one of the brokers (several have good reputations, and two are sponsors of DIS (David's Rental and TSS)...there are also other forums through which you can rent points, and at least one I know of (but think we're not allowed to post its name--either on the forums or thru PMs) lets you post that you're looking for a certain kind of reservation (or a certain number of points)...I'd say googling (or your search engine of choice) would be your best bet to find them...

But you really aren't renting points. You are purchasing a reservation that a member made with the points. Or if you are a DVC member, getting a transfer from another member and then those points are yours.

You can always purchase a reservation from multiple members and ask that they be close to each other. So if you need five villas, you purchase from five or fewer members to get what you need.

DVC owners only rent out points that they don't think they will use for that use year. Like another poster pointed out, if you need multiple rooms, you can consider renting from multiple DVC owners. Whether you rent from the same owner or multiple owners, you can still ask the owners to specify in the reservation for the rooms to be close together.
