:confused3 with you to disney world? It will be me dh and kids 10dd and 6ds i was thinking about two suitcases and 2 duffle bags. i will be bring home alot of stuff so should i bring another bag too???

When we travel we take one suitcase per person. I try to put 1-2 collapsed duffles in there as well, to carry the stuff we bring home. Everyone has to carry their own bag, except my mentally handicapped child (Lord knows where his luggage would end up :rolleyes1 ) I allow the kids to bring a backpack for their toys, markers, books, Cd player, etc., and they are responsible for it.

SO far I have one big travel bag with wheels, that has all our clothes and 2 duffel bags. 1 has snacks and stuff the other our personal care stuff. I'm going to let the boys bring there back packs as carry on bags so we will also have those aswell.

We take 1 per person and I put a duffel in my DSS's suitcase 'cause his stuff doesn't take up much room and then I have an extra suitcase for bringing home all the accumulated junk. Sometimes I'll take an extra suitcase and put like beach towels if the duffel doesn't fit. Our suitcases aren't huge Don't take those big ones they get too heavy for the airlines and your back. It is much easier to get ready in the room if everyones clothes are seperate and not mixed together in 1 case.

adding the kids also have their backpacks (as heavy as THEY are willing to carry) they prioritize much better that way, my DH has his camera bag, and I'll have a large purse or small tote.

Yikes! You guys pack light. Dh, Dd4 and I took 3 carry-ons, 2 large suitcases and 3 small suitcases. Dh and I each used a large suitcase for clothes- Dd used a small one. One small suitcase had toiletries and misc. "stuff" that didn't really go anywhere else (bug spray, ponchos, bandaids...etc). The other small suitcase had snacks and bottled water (used it for souvenirs after the food was gone). All three carry-ons were stuffed to the brim with stuff we needed for the first day (at Blizzard Beach) plus prescription meds, camera, cell, id and entertainment for the flight.

Here is what I am thinking for 5 people, 4 suitecases, 1 small bathroom bad and 1 duffle on wheels. Each kid has a backpack for the plane and I will have one bag for carry on.

Right now, we're thinking, one carry on with medications, toiletries, and paperwork.. one large suitcase for three sons to share, and one smaller one for each me and husband to share. So, three checked, one carry on. I will put a duffle bag or two in the checked ones, just in case for disney loot coming home.

Each son also has a backpack for airplane entertainment.

I hope it's enough. Three checked bags, for five people. We're light packers though.

Checked Baggage:
4 duffle bags, 1 per person-if it don't fit it ain't going!
I take 1 additional duffle w/mine and DH's pillows and put an empty duffle for bringing stuff home into it.

CarryOn:
2 backpacks-1 w/ all cameras/film/discs & 1 w/ games, med's, travel docs etc
My wallet bag with Credit Cards, Medical/AAA cards, money etc
1-soft sided cooler w/ sandwiches & snacks as our travel time easily reaches 12-14 hours depending on # of stops and then the 2 hr drive from MCO to the inlaws.

Over the years I have gotten better about reducing the amount of luggage, heck there are Wal-Marts everywhere if we forget something!
For a family of 4 going on a 17 day trip, it is really amazing how little we take. I do laundry at the in-laws the night before we head to WDW.

There are five in our family and I was going to pack one large suitcase and one small for Dh and me (might have some space left for bringing back stuff), plus one duffle bag for each of the kids. plus the kids will have one carry-on too. Then my carry-on's, backpack and another bag for bathroom stuff and meds. But WOW :sad2: after reading this maby an extra bag to bring home stuff isn't a bad idea. I thought I was going to pack light :rotfl:

I bought each of my kids there own small suitcases (about $10 at Walmart or Target). They are responsible for pulling them through the airport. Keeps their hands busy and keeps them out of trouble!

Then hubby & I each take a small suitcase as well. We also take 1 large suitcase full on non-perishable foods, snacks, cereal, etc... Inside that large suitcase is a flat foldable suitcase. That way after we eat the food we then have 2 extra suitcases to bring home souvenirs & junk home if needed.

I am in the process of packing (the last 3 days) and right now I have packed:
1 large suitcase for me and DH
1 large suitcase for 2 DSs
1 med suitcase for misc. (hats, sunglasses, and other things.)
1 med suitcase for shoes.
1 carryon for me
1 LARGE purse for me
1 backpack for DS
1 computer case for DH (can't leave home without it & wants to bring personal and work.\! :furious: )
1 empty bag for purchases that we can't live without.
Leave Friday at 2:30 pm.

Is the size requirement for carryons 18 or 20 inches?? I haven't flown in so long that I have forgotten. Most airlines limit you to 2 pieces of luggage per person, right? Thanks!

1 case for DW and I and 1 for the 2 DS, 1 carry on with emergency items just in case stuff is lost, a collapsable duffle in 1 of the bags for return. We pack lite as we stay in a 1-bdrm DVC room and do laundry in our room.

We usually take 3CO'S -1 for each child and DH and I share 1, The kids each have their own suitcase and once again DH and I share another, then we have the camera and camcorder as well. I usually pack extra duffle bags for all those souveniers and one more suitcase for just raincoats and extra footware . :sunny:
