I was just curious about this. How many pictures do you generally take on your trip(s) to WDW? I have a digital camera (just a plain ol' Kodak Easyshare) and just bought a 1 GB memory card that hold 764 pictures, plus the existing 126 mb (or is it 128?? I can't remember) which holds 97 pictures. I only had a film camera in 2004 and took close to 200 pictures then and we didn't see NEARLY what we'll see this go around.

memory cards are pretty cheap, I would get another one, better safe than sorry...how long are you going for??? I took almost 300 pictures in 2 days:eek:

We'll be at the resort for 7 days/6 nights, but will only have 5 full days in the parks. We check in late afternoon on 6/2 and check out on 6/8. I'm thinking seriously of getting that additional 1 GB memory card since I found it for a steal at Wal-Mart for only $14!!

I average between 100-150 per DAY of our vacations. I have 4 1GB memory cards for my Sony Cybershot. They would hold about 1200 pictures (8 Megapixle pics) so I will need to buy maybe 2 more for our upcoming trip which is 10 nights.

If I were you I'd buy another memory card to be safe as it would be more expensive to buy one when you get down there.

Worst case scenario, you fill up your card and I believe in each park there is a photo centre where you can transfer all your pics to cd. Then you can start over again! :)

On my Spring Break trip to Disneyland last month, I took 1,300 pictures! Averaged out to @ 260 per day. I love taking pictures! :teeth:

I take around 300 pictures during my disney vacation. I take 1GB and a 256 MB and that does the trick. I love taking pictures but hate the price to get them developed, lol.

1300???????????? Good LORD!!!! That's a lot of freakin pictures!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Ok, so I think I'll go buy another 1GB memory card this weekend. My camera is just a 4 megapixel camera, very basic for what I need.

I'm just really glad for my digital camera, I used to spent way too much on film!

:rotfl2: Tell me about it! I just purchased a Canon S3 IS for my two week trip next month and I fully anticipate taking around 4,000 - 5,000 pictures! Believe me, I would have NEVER done this without digital - I couldn't afford it! :rotfl2:

I bring two 512 SD cards with me and each one holds around 350 pictures. I always bring my laptop with me so I can upload my photos and free up my card each night. Works great for me! :thumbsup2

We took about 800 pictures, some with video that we had done with our digital camera. The extra memory card definately came in handy for us. Definately get and extra card.

Oh, and one other thing, make sure you have extra batteries as back up.

Can you imagine how much it would cost if you had to buy the film with only 36 or so exposures in them? Plus the cost of having all the pictures developed :scared1:  ?

DH and I were talking about that on our last trip. We are so thankful for digital cameras! Our ability to take pictures is practically endless! And I love having the ability to just upload the pictures to the computer.

We took approx. 800 pics on our trip last september. We were there for roughly 7 days with 5 being park days. We took so many because it was our 1st vacation together at disney and also because since we are a couple one of us would take a picture in front of something and then we'd switch off.

I took around 2400 during our 10-night stay a few months ago. I have 2 2GB cards, and my DH put the pictures on the laptop so I could re-use the cards.

Of course, a lot of those pictures were REALLY bad....I went through them right after we got home and deleted several hundred.

Now, I'm just trying to figure out which ones to get printed for the scrapbook......this process could take a while!!!

:yay: Next year, I plan to focus on taking INTERESTING pictures, instead of just endless pictures of the castle, DH standing in front an attraction, etc.

I just bought a Canon G7 to use on our upcoming trip. I have three 4GB cards plus I will have my laptop. Set to large pic mode, superfine, one card will hold about 900 pics. I've only got about 48GB of space left on my hard drive. That only gives me room for about a total 13500 pics. Maybe I need to pick up an big external drive just in case.:lmao:

It is generally recommended that you not "put all of your eggs in one basket". Try checking out the photography board. I have read post where people have had their camera stolen and they had every picture they had taken, on the memory card in the camera, so they not only lost their camera but also all of their pictures taken up to that point. There is also the chance of something bad happening to your card. It would be much better to have several smaller cards rather than trying to get all your pictures onto one card and as you fill one up, leave it in your room:thumbsup2

Oh...my...Lord! Did some of you people have your camera strapped to your head? How many shots did you end up deleting? Some of you definitely left your camera either on continuous or multi shot. :rotfl2:
Some of you must subscribe to school of taking pictures at the airport, your meals, close up items in your room, Mickey's gloves, etc... :rotfl:
For our 7day/6night trip we took 1GB in our digital. It worked out great. We took over 250 pictures, plus 2 60min. cassttes of DVC film for a camcorder. I thought that was a little overboard.
BTW extra batteries are a must! :thumbsup2
