How many people in DVC rooms?

I am looking into buying DVC (BWV-resale). I am trying to figure out how many pts we need to buy. And I was wondering how many people can sleep in a studio and/or 1 bdrm?

No flames please I am not trying to pack the room full like clowns in a VW bug

I have a family of 5 Me, DH, DD-9, DD-6, DD-4 and I didn't know if 4 for the studio and 1 bdrm is a guideline or you can't have more than that in a room.


My parents have DVC and we have traveled with them but always have gotten a 2 bdrm.

Thanks so much... it is such a big decision I don't want to get it wrong.

How we decided how many points to buy is by looking at the point chart above. From this we figured where and when we most likely would stay and went from there. Studios and 1 bedrooms are listed as having a 4 person occupancy. 2 bedrooms you start getting into 8 people area. With a family your size you may be able to pull it off for a few years in a 1 bedroom.....by bringing a air mattress but as time wheres on it may not be to practical. Also I've read that Disney is cracking down on occupancy levels.
If you love Disney you won't get it wrong.

The stated maximum for a studio is 4 persons plus an infant under the age of 3 years. A portable crib (Pac 'n Play) is provided for the infant.

The stated maximum for a 1 bedroom is also 4 persons plus an infant under the age of 3. MS is reportedly now allowing 5 persons in a 1 bedroom (even if one isn't under the age of 3). However, no rollaways, cots or extra bedding is provided to accomodate the 5th person.
