How many people are using points during the peak (premier) time?

Have done the Christmas New Year week twice - First time in 2BR at Okw and BCV and Last year in GV OKW 4 nights ( 5 people) and then 1 night 2 BR BCV. We stayed away from weekends partly to save points and partly because we had other places we wanted to go and could do it one the weekends and needed hotels in Tampa etc. I also got a great rate at AKL with my AP last year and figured it was a once in a lifetime chance to stay there from 12/25-12/28 for a little over $400 total in a Savannal view room.
Have also used them at Easter and don't regret one point used - not even the amount we used for 5 people in a GV. (there were origianlly 9 going and by the time they backed out it was too late to get a 2 BR. Now that last child is out of high school we will be able to plan differently and may use weekend points more frequently if all we need is a studio but will still have to work around the wekends if we bring the whole family and friends group and it is premier season.

As a new DVC members, we haven't used any points yet and can't wait to! But, we usually spend 1 or 2 days at Universal anyway, and love staying on site for the front of the line access.
So, on our next trip, we will probably stay @ Hard Rock Hotel Fri & Sat nite and move to Disney for the rest of the week, thus avoiding the Sat crowds at Disney and pleasing the teens in the family! You can usually get some type of discounted rates for the Universal hotels.

We stayed last year from Xmas day through Jan. 2nd in a studio. My sister joined us for ther 60th birthday celebration for five of the eight nights (it was nice to have a few nights with just the two of us). We didn't expect to do it again for a while at Xmas, but my wife is having ACL replacement surgery June '05 after a January ('04) skiing injury, so we decided to do a few days this Xmas since we won't be doing a June trip ('05). I'm a teacher (at least for a few years yet), and I teach summer school as well, so we're limited as to when we can visit, at least for a while.
I don't mind using the points because I know we won't go in June, but we'll probably do Xmas '05 as well because I don't know if we can do more than 12 months without a WDW fix!!! I wanted to have a lot of banked points available for a Summer '06 retirement blowout, but it's not looking good.

We are using points from12/26-1/1 at BCV. We love being at WDW during the holidays and since I teach, this is when I can go.

Going at Easter time...agree with other posters ...that's why we have the points...as a teacher, there are only a few times that I can go during the school year...but glad to have the opportunity. But when I retire that will be a whole 'nother can of beans
