How Many Over 50's Ride The Rides

Thanks guys!!
Celebrating with dinner at a nice restaurant.
Now why don't I find that odd??? :) :)

It would be more informative to ask this question about old folks, not us 'youngsters'!::yes::

I refuse to get older or grow up!! However I'm over 50 and still ride them all.

Turned 50 last year. My son challenged me to ride one with him. This past August was the first time in over 20 years I rode a rollercoaster. I can't believe how much fun I've been missing. So until the doctor tells me to stop, I guess I'll be riding them.

We're 55 and 59 and haven't thought about not riding!

Well, first, I'm not sure I think "50" is really THAT old. Certainly not "crippled" enough to not do too much less than when we were younger, but maybe that's just me!!! AND before you jump to conclusions, I'm still 49, perhaps I'll fall apart in the next 6 months, but I didn't notice hubby did in July.

And about the rides??? My 80 year old MIL went on TOT, Splash Mountain, and Test Track two years ago, and did she LOVE it!!!! In fact, except of RR, she did everything we did, but I don't do roller coasters either.

Oh, as far as 50 and roller coasters go??? Hubby went on Top Thrill Dragster several times at Cedar Point with our son this summer, they even waited in line to sit in the front seat one of the times, but he likes Millenium Force better. Now if you ask ME, ANYONE going on Top Thrill Dragster is NUTS, but then, like I said, I'm not much of a roller coaster person!!!

YIPPEE, one more day!!! :wave2: :earseek:

My mom is 58 and RNR and SM are her absolute favorites!! She enjoys HM and POTC too, but she really likes the thrill rides!! She goes on Batman and Mr. Freeze at 6Flags too. I'm glad she enjoys them because I have inherited that from her!! Thanks mom!!

DH & I both turned 50 this year....Personally Space Mountain is a baby ride! I usually don't bother unless there is no line. My Dad is 80 and goes on them all!!! I guess I take after him. Until the body can't go anymore, we'll be on the rides.

Heck, the ride part is easy, talk about arriving in the parks at 9am and leaving at midnight without going back to the hotel!!!!
LOL

My Grandmother was 79 when she rode Test Track last year.
I was worried about her, but she laughed whole way through it.
The picture is great! :D

It's beginning to look as if the majority of elder DISers are only in their 50's. We are 57 + 58 and still love the thrill rides. RnR is my all time favorite. In fact, on our last trip, our daughter and granddaughter waited for us while we rode! I never did care for ToT or Splash Mt. I just can't take that drop. But DH loves them all!

:bounce: :Pinkbounc pirate: I'm 55 & Hubby is 59 we ride everything at Disney & Universal and love them all. We may be growing older but we will never grow up.

Well. I'm 53 but I only feel like 49. ;)

I am 64 and I prefer the 'soft' rides where you can see more and enjoy the storyline. But here is my take on some of the attractions:
RRC HATED it. I was terrified. Been on it twice and have vowed NEVER to do it again.
MISSION SPACE LOVED it. I was scared at first but it was GREAT! Definitely will do it again
BODY WARS Great storyline, but I don't like being shaken to bits! Wish it had a few slowdown 'breaks' to recover from the nausea.
SPLASH MTN. LOVED it.
SPACE MTN. HATED it. Hated it 25 yrs ago and still do!
TOT - LOVED it - especially the brief view over the park when the doors open!
TEST TRACT Great, fun and laughed a lot with an interesting preshow area.
STAR TOURS Pretty good - at least there a a few 'break' times to recover.
BIG THUNDER GREAT! Love it! Lots to see!

I went to WDW with my parents and mother in law in March (ages: 55, 58 & 63) and they all went on everything except my Mom and Mother in law did not go on RocknRoller Coaster (they also were doing us the favor of watching our too short kiddoes). However, when Mom and I went in October, she tried Rock n Roller Coaster and Mission Space. She said they were okay, but wasn't in any big hurry to do them again! She likes all of the other E ticket rides tho! So does my dad!

This thread is a little depressing because until I read it I didn't realize that being in one's 50's meant that we should start thinking that some of the rides are not doable!

I ride them all!! Too be honest I never even rode a rollercoaster before I had turned 50. I think I was 51 at the time. I love the rides like Body Wars and Star Tours and Back to the Future. I can't wait to go in March and hit Mission Space. I do tend to worry about the people I go with because I know some people do have problems with motion sickness, so I am a little concerned about trying to "force" a friend to go with me.

So don't put me in a rocking chair just yet...there are a lot of young thinking years left in this old body!

:scared1: :cool1: :scared1:

My DW and I will be 54 for our next trip in February and cannot wait for Mission Space and ToT and RnR and all the other great rides
