How many of you buy clothes for the kids but won't let them wear them until Disney?

Hi, I'm fan_of_small_world, and I'm addicted to hoarding vacation clothing too!

I'm so happy that I'm not alone!!

I have a huge bag from the DS in my closet with clothes (for all of us!), Disney books, and Disney trinkets that I've been buying for our trip in October. Even new toothbrushes! I'll be starting a new bag soon, since this one is already full.

I'm having so much fun planning for our trip, I'm wondering what I'll do when it's over! I guess I'll have to get into scrapbooking then for all the pics and things I'll save.

I bought my dds a bunch of Disney clothes on clearance from disneystore (in and online) and at wal-mart. I was intending to save them for our September trip so they would be brand new and extra special. BUT, they kept begging to wear them, and a lot of their clothes from last year were worn or too small, so I gave in. My oldest is good about keeping stuff clean. My youngest isn't. I've just stain treated it and popped it into the washer right away. No problems. I did however accidently dry the only shirt my dh was willing to buy and peeled off the lettering on the back! ARGH! I was so mad. Fortunately, Mickey on the front is only a little wrinkled.

I also have the Disney Store bags filled of new "disney clothes" for DD, which includes new clothes, shoes, bathing suit, socks, and Ariel underwear (wishful thinking that she might be potty-trained by the trip!) I also have new coloring books (Cinderella ColorWonder) and Disney books packed into the new Tink backpack!

The MOST neurotic thing I did...saved socks especially for Disney. I got new socks awhile back with a free $10 coupon I got from JC Penney. I haven't used them because I think of them as my Disney socks. I only wear sneakers to the gym and Disney so I put the new socks in the back of my drawer so I have comfy new socks to wear during our trip :cloud9:

We'll be there July 12-23 at WDW July 23-27 at Universal - maybe we'll see you.

Mom2taylorandemily - I'm a mom to a Taylor too! My Taylor is 8 - how old is yours?

DisneyMomx7: my Taylor is 9, she is actually going to turn 10 on our trip. We are going down Dec. 2 -8th, her b-day is the 4th, so she has gotten to plan the whole day for herself. She is very excited to be having her b-day at Disney, she is the only one to do that in her group of friends, so she is feeling very special. :cloud9:

OMG - I finished packing the kids today and found out it was worse than I thought! I have hoarding clothes for so long I didn't realize how much I had. Before I say how many outfits I had put away for the kids let me just remind everyone that we'll be gone for 16 days, in the heat of July, and they wear about two outfits a day. All that was said to justify the fact that I packed 25 ziploc outfit bags for each dd (total outfit new, including socks, underwear and hair accessory) and 20 for ds! That didn't include the new bathing suits, cover ups and pjs that I don't pack in the ziploc bags.

I just kept buying and since I did it over a long period of time ( and hit all the sales) I didn't realize I had so much. Thank goodness DH doesn't pay too much attention to the packing or what the kids are wearing, he'd probably have a heart attack!

I won't do my and DH's packing until Monday. Sunday we're having a college graduation joint party for my two ds's who graduated from college in May. Luckily DH and I don't have nearly that many things to pack. You know you always buy for the kids first.

I've already shipped thee boxes down full of costumes, kids stuffed animals, ponchos, water/spray fan, light up spinners etc.

Now I know we're finally getting close because my bedroom is filled with suitcases!

We leave Tuesday for Philadelphia airport hotel, stay the night (and park the car for free the whole time) and have a 7:00 am flight on Wednesday for Disney. Can't wait!

We decided to stay at a hotel the night before we leave too! We weren't sure what we were going to do, our plane leaves at 7:00 am and we need to be at the airport early, so we just decided to stay at the hotel incase of snow, that way we won't miss the plane. DH is a little nervous about not making the plane.

How about DISalholic Shoppers?! :rotfl:

I admit it---I'm a DISaholic Shopper!
(I'm off to do more shopping now...) :rolleyes1

I had to laugh when I saw this thread! :lmao: I buy clothes every year and they sit in the closet until Disney time. My youngest just turned 3 and I swear she is PigPen from Charlie Brown and the Peanuts gang. (Remember the one with the dust cloud trailing behind him?) She is a magnet to dirt and doesn't mind being dirty...I must go through soo many shirts with her. I still have to put a bib on her and food still goes every where! So I can't take her to WDW with stains all over her shirts. Actually, I just don't do it for her..I do it for my 10 yo DD and myself as well!

Just bought matching logo shirts at Disneyshopping.com for $3.99 each, plus some pjs on sale for $5.99! I'm running out of space to hide it all until JAN, though.

When I build our new house next year, maybe I should add a "Disney" closet?! :p :cloud9:

Ohhhh, I've just started doing this! I have a big shopping bag in dd's closet with some things I've picked up for her. So far- a princess dress, tinkerbelle shorts, Ariel dress, some disney hair bows, swimsuit cover-up, little disney toys and more I can't remember. I was just thinking I have to go pick up the safari dress with matching hairbow from Gymboree to put away for our AK day!
:teeth:
