floridafam, I am so glad to hear that you will be able to get your son's test done sooner. I think it will be much easier to not have the nerves that go along with waiting so long. My prayers are with your son as he undergoes the test and that the results will be good.

mom_rules, Bambi posted a link to my pictures. I will copy and paste my review of the room below. The short of it is that the room is fantastic, and we loved our stay there. :) It's a bit of a very minor hassle to get to the concierge lounge (as compared with being right there on the concierge floor), but the room is well worth the short walk.

BoardWalk Inn Garden Suite #1204—

We like to split our stays while traveling to Disney World, so we moved from the Grand Floridian to the BoardWalk Inn about midway through our trip. We arrived early (around 11:30 am), and our room was already ready for us. A very sweet front desk cast member named Xia checked us in and gave us directions to our room. You could get to the room very quickly from the lobby, which was extremely convenient for catching the busses to the parks. We got checked in, received our nifty gold key cards (I had heard on the DIS that you sometimes get gold cards if you stay concierge, but I had never gotten a gold one before), and headed to our room. The exterior to the garden suite was so cute! There is a white picket fence and a gate with an archway leading into a little courtyard with rose bushes and other plants surrounding a pathway into the suite. When we opened the door to the suite we were blown away! What an incredible room! I had seen pictures online, but pictures really don’t do it justice. It’s perfect for honeymooners, or anyone else on a romantic getaway. The garden suites are two stories. When you enter the suite, there is a sleeper sofa and a coffee table directly ahead. On one side of the sofa there is an entertainment center and a table with two chairs. On the other side of the sofa there is a small side table and a chair. A doorway leads to a small closet, a wet bar area with a small refrigerator, and a half bath. A staircase with hardwood floors leads to the second story loft. In the loft there is a beautiful king sized poster bed, a large entertainment armoire, a closet, and an entry to the vanity area. The vanity area has a marble countertop and two sinks, as well as a small television. Next to the vanity there is a HUGE Jacuzzi tub. It was heavenly for relaxing! A door separates the toilet and the large marble shower with glass doors. We truly loved this room!

The only downside to the garden suites is that they are located so far away from the concierge lounge. The lounge is located on the 4th floor of the resort, and you must walk outside to get there. The lounge itself is very opulently decorated with huge sofas and chairs to relax in. There is also a desk area for the concierge staff to assist you inside the lounge. There are two beverage service areas and one main food service area. During our trip we tried the midday snacks, evening appetizers, and evening desserts and cordials. I am also happy to report that soft drinks were out for the taking. Can you tell I’m a Diet Coke addict? The midday snacks were plentiful and consisted of goldfish crackers, pretzels, popcorn, M&M’s, cookies, etc. Evening appetizers consisted of cheese, vegetable, and fruit trays, as well as hot appetizers. I found the mushroom stuffed phyllo pastries to be delicious! The evening desserts were a tiny bit disappointing. What they had was quite tasty, but there was not a lot of variety compared to our earlier experience with desserts at the Grand Floridian concierge.

The concierge staff in the lounge was very friendly, and they even started conversations with us. They were also happy to help us and were always polite. Also, their pre-planning team was extremely helpful and was even able to get us an Illuminations cruise.

The BoardWalk Inn itself is a wonderful resort with a very relaxing feel to it. I love the theming and décor, and the BoardWalk is a wonderful place to spend an evening shopping and strolling. Of course, the proximity to Epcot is fabulous. We also took advantage of the walkway to Disney-MGM Studios a few times, which was also convenient. The bus service we encountered was very efficient as well. The only thing that I find to be a bit lacking at the BoardWalk Inn (and all the Epcot area resorts for that matter) is the lack of a quick service restaurant where mugs can be refilled. They have a bakery and some very nice restaurants on the BoardWalk, but there were several times we would have liked a quick meal like chicken fingers. The resort looks very cute dressed up for Christmas, and they have an absolutely incredible chocolate seaside amusement park display. It’s huge and very detailed. Also, we saw a juggler and a flute choir performing in the lobby on two separate evenings. We can’t wait to return to the BoardWalk Inn and to stay in a garden suite when the budget allows.

I hope you have an INCREDIBLE time on your trip/visit. Is it true? Eight years?!? Wow...you DESERVE extra MAGIC!!

Thanks so much DF! We are certainly looking forward to this long, overdue WDW vacation. Very first time @ the poly, which is exciting in itself but then to be staying CL....I'm PUMPED!
:Pinkbounc

The lifetime corp. card you have for RFC sounds great! Not ever having to wait in line at a place that's always packed sounds right up my alley!

floridafam-lots of prayers and PD to you and your family! How wonderful that you won't have to wait until later in the month for his test. I'm sure everything will work out just fine for your DS. Best wishes to you and your family!

Steffy - LOL! I think you got your wires crossed up, somewhere!!;) Poly GV CL in value season is $390 + tax, after the AP discount it is $305 + tax, or $340.07. Not as big a discount as the last few codes, but still a discount. Percentage wise, comes out to about 21.79%, a little better than AAA. Oh, well, what can you do?!:sunny: I agree, though, it's as if Disney said, "If they can afford to do the most expensive rooms, they don't need as much of a discount!";)

With an AP discount it was around $240 last year..... or roughly 40%:hyper:

And I really think the "new discount" is in response to the elevated interest in CL. :)

Anyway, forgot to add woodysroundup, majestic and is it you luckywife??? I have counter envy..... :sunny:

Floridafam & Debbie-thoughts and prayers for your families!

Elizabeth-did you get your interview this week?

OK I need advice-I've got a room only reservation booked at Poly LVC for Nov. Do I call and change it to the 7 for 5 deal? And then change it back to AP if they come out? Do I make a new seperate 7 for 5 reservation? Can I have 2 reservations same names/dates if I'm willing to pay both deposits. The AP isn't looking as good but even with just $85 off per night that's cheaper for 2 trips then 2- 7 for 5 trips. An additional wrinkle is that we are taking a friend who will be helping out with the 3 kids and she wants to go between our 2 trips so she could use the AP I purchase for her if I stick to the AP's.

All this talk of the Rainforest Cafe I just have to share this cute story. My first trip with a child was in Oct. 1996 when I went on business and my best friend joined me with her DS(4) my Godson. One night we went to the Rainforest Cafe for dinner and had a great meal and lots of fun. We loved the "pretend" rain and the animals. When we left DS says to him Mom "Mommy is it real dark out"?:teeth: Now that's why I keep going back to Dinsey to loose all sense of reality!

Hi everyone,

Thank you all for your hugs and good wishes. It looks like we won't know tomorrow.

The Dr. called and was able to get us into the hospital that accepts our insurance on Tues. morning. This seemed pretty reasonable.

He also said that there are no othe indicators of CF and the test is just to rule it out. She said that she was sorry we thought it was urgent.

I feel a lot better. So, Tuesday is the day.

Thanks again. You guys are great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, forgot to add woodysroundup, majestic and is it you luckywife??? I have counter envy.....

LOL Steffy...you're funny! ::yes::
You're going in December, aren't you? It'll be here before you know it and then I'll be the envious one! I've always wanted to go that time of year.

BTW...I can't remember who it was (woodysrounup I think) was going to ask someone in CL about having diapers in her room for the baby. Anyone know if this is something that can be arranged? Do they actually do things like that for their guests?

Floridafam - That's great news!!! :teeth: I just knew it would work out for you. I'm sure you feel 10 lbs. lighter already.

Fred - Single digit dancing! Whoo hoo!

Lovesdumbo - Decisions, decisions - it's tough isn't it? Sorry, I'm not much help on the subject though.

I'm sure you feel 10 lbs. lighter already.

I wish! I do feel a lot better than I did this morning, especially after speaking with his assistant. She said he does not think DS has CF, they just have to rule it out.

This past month has been horrible. If we get good results, you can be sure we are going to have some serious FUN on this vacation!!!! :teeth:

LoL, Steffy, sorry I thought you meant that before the discounts came out, Poly GV CL was $240, did not catch that you meant "last year." Yes, that is more like what I was expecting, too, the discount at Christmas time (value season) was a lot more than this!::yes:: :wave2:

floridafam - Even though you will have to wait a few more days, the info from your Dr.'s office is great!! I know you will get good news next week!:)

Floridafam, I have been away from the boards for a day and I can't believe what you have been going through. Your pediatrician sounds like an insensitive clod. I hope that everything works out for you. Waiting is so hard but it does sound like your latest news indicates that everyone is just being cautious. I will be thinking of you both.

*waving before I am off to hockey*
Fantastic news, Floridafam! I know you don't have the results in, but it sounds SOOO positive!

Please read this link if you'd like updates.... My thank you to ALL of you is here, also! It means the world to me reading all of the prayers for my SIL.

Also in there is my lunch time phone call I decided to make or else! I still don't know which, but they're both in my name right now... Poly GV and Poly GVC for the second half of my Swan/Dolphin sorority trip! Btw.. we take gate crashers... so if you'll be there then *I know K&a*c'smom will be there at that time!* please ask about our schedule *when known* and come meet up with us!

Thank you again!
Debbie

crs7568,

I feel better now about his attitude. The woman I spoke with explained that he can be abrupt but he likes to be honest and up front with his patients. I'm satisfied now that there was just so much going on and I just probably didn't grasp his personality at first.

:D

How is everyone?

floridafam--dh calls our pediatrician "henny penny" because she always has me convinced the sky is falling:rolleyes: I think things sound much more upbeat now! I am really glad that you will get the test done sooner, waiting is the hardest part. (isn't that a song????)
Elizabeth that room sounds wonderful! I too was wondering if you got that job interview.
It sounds like everyone needs a glass of wine and some dessert, so I will put some out for y'all. :wave2:

Debbie - I am really sorry to hear that about your DSIL, it really is such a shame when someone young, beautiful and vibrant has a crisis like this. For some reason, it always seems more poignant, I don't know why? Maybe because when you see someone who seems to have it all, you can't bear to see any of it taken away. My thoughts are with your family, best wishes to all of you.

Thank you, goodferry, I definitely would like some of that wine!!;)

Oh Debbie,

My thought and prayers are with you. And your family. What a tradegy. Just plain isn't fair.

Sorry to bust in year not having read all 100 or so pages in this thread, but can a friendly DISer give me suggestions on what concierge to pick..BWI, YC or BC?? We loved GF Sugar Loaf last August, and we're returning this August. Best Lounge, most recently renovated, nicest staff, etc.???

Thanks so much:earsboy:

teentoddlermom - Welcome! KerryCM is the resident expert on BWI CL, hopefully she'll be along sometime. BT has recently been to BC CL, and, somebody (mom_rules?) has just been to YC CL. I have been to AKL CL, which ROCKS! and Poly CL which is absolutely beautiful, but none of the ones you mentioned, so I can't be of much help! Somebody will be along shortly, I'm sure!
