How many of us photographers are also

I used too. I was into the whole Creative Memories thing. Then we moved and there wasn't a good place to set up in the new house, and I didn't touch it for about 4 years....kept taking pictures, but didn't scrapbook them. A couple months ago, I did a photobook through snapfish. I photoshopped my pages and just added them to the book. It was so much fun and so much easier and SO MUCH CHEAPER!!!!! I had a garage sale and sold alot of my scrapbooking supplies. Now that I only take digital photos, it really seems like the right way for me to go. I'm going to try the photobooks at mpix.com and shuttfly next to see which ones I like best. Then, I'll be a scapping fool again. :)

I loved boBQuincey's scrap pages.

I have only done a few "craft" scraps. One of the reasons for buying a new camera is to become more proficient using digital formats. I just wish that I was more of a computer person, just about everything is self learned. I get very frustrated when the instructions seem so easy yet don't seem to work.

Sometimes it just seems that everything is becoming overwhelming, family, work, cleaning the house, gardening, shopping, cooking, and family again. Just when I decide that today is the day for me, something always comes up. Whine, Whine,Whine. Oh well.

I do both. I don't consider myself particularly good at either, but it's lots of fun! And I just got my new digital camera today, woo hoo! :)

For any of you not aware of it, there is a DIS Scrapbook Forum. If you get some good "generic" shots on one of your Disney trips and feel like sharing, you might post a link to your photos there. I did that a while back and people were very appreciative.

I am an avid scrapper! I have been for about 12 years or so! My love for scrapbooking has definately improved my photography skills!!

yes...i agree..once i got into scrapping..i focused more on photography..upgraded to a better camera..took more of a interest..and boy do i love it!

I have been seriously scrapbooking for almost 20 years; some for myself and lately mostly "tribute" scrapbooks for people in my Scout troop and my family.

Now that I am retired I hope to catch up on all those pictures carefully filed in boxes but WAIT, we have another WDW trip coming up in December........and I need to find a job until we move to a retirement location. HELP!

But, seriously I love working on my photos to get them just right for a scrapbook page. Here are a few simple pages I did for tribute albums in the past:

Mostly I scrapbook to help relive the wonderful memories and use those photos! And I don't think I'll go digital until I use up the closetful of supplies I have plus I love the 3-D feel.

Im a scrapper too! but with school going right now I havent had any time to do much more than buying things to use. I am going to try and do a tribute album for my mom during my school break... have to send out letters to the people who i need to participate, and then put it together. Also want to do a Disney only album.

Trina is really into the scrapbook thing. I think she just likes to see how many different pair of scissors she can collect. I have a theory that she is just in it for the tools but that is just a theory.

I have gotten more into the framing and matting part but I only have so many walls so that limits the number I do. Lately creating digital scrapbooks and DVDs sharing our photos that way. Parents and grandparents love being able to slide in a DVD and watch the photos go by set to music. I just finished one for Trina to commemorate our 25th Anniversary. We're now going to sit and watch it with a microphone and Mini-Disc player and comment on the photos. I'll then add that as an alternate sound track like a commentary that people can turn on and off. That way people can hear what the pictures are and what they mean to us in our own words.

no me - i admire people who have the patience to do it. I am just not that crafty.

You would be surprised at what you can do. I taught my mom, and she had her first one done in 2 weeks (she was on a tight schedule... and is retired so worked all the time on it)

Scrapbooking? Oh yeah... we do scrapbooking!

LOVE the pages!!!

That is the main source I use for my albums. I just like the idea of having something I can hold and say "see what I have done". May try the digital sometime..... maybe...

Maybe a job at a scrapbook store??

My mom kept buying scissors too! I think from reading what you have done is such an incredible way to share your lives with family! Congrats on the 25 years!!! Many many more!

Holy Cow, Bob! Are those digital scrapbook pages? I have years of photos on disc, many photos in boxes by year, but nothing in a book. :sad2: Shame on me. I really need to do something with all of these photos!
HELP!

that's exactly what happened to me. Once I started scrapbooking, I started paying more attention to every picture I took, then I wanted to learn more about photography... and at this point, I'm not sure I'm very good at either. I find myself very overwhelmed by both hobbies sometimes. I've stopped working on my albums for a while, though. I've been too busy playing with my S3. LOL. :rotfl:
