Does anyone know how many new villas will be added to BWV once the sales center is converted to villas?

I don't have the information any more and can't find the threads right now, but 17 seems to stick out in my mind (but, that may not be accurate at all). I think the modular offices (red roof that many have reported/complained about as detracting from their view) will be removed. The current models and the office space on either side of the model hallway will be converted to villas.

You word yet on whether some villas will have BW patios and how that space will be utilized when the conversion is completed.

According to the annual budgets for 2003 & 2004, the number of units went from 367 to 383, so 16 more. The models are lockoffs, I don't know if they will stay that way (BW has both dedicated & lockoff studios & 1 bedrooms). I guess they will have to be remodeled to match the rest of the BWV rooms. I imagine that would take some time plus converting the office space. If they move out in May or June, I would bet the new rooms would not be available before the end of the year. Which brings the question as to how they were able to sell the extra points last year without the rooms being available for occupancy. It will be interesting to see what they do with the Boardwalk frontage.

Doc, do you think this would be enough for them to open up sales again like they did when they put in the three additional buildings at OKW? I would think they would only offer the points to folks on the waiting list for add-ons.

Those points have already been sold. They were for sale last spring and sold out very quickly. I do not believe they ever made it to being offered to the public, since existing DVC members bought them all.

I wondered about that, because at OKW they points were not offered until the units were built and added to the condominium. I assumed they would have to do it the same way at BWV. Those units are not completed yet, are they?

actually, they were offered to the public!

we were not DVC owners when we were offered bwv points (june use year) in sept (we called about buying into ssr). we were told these were pts from the new units being created from the office move.

we bought them :)

That's interesting. I would have thought we would have offered them to owners first like they did at OKW. CONGRATULATIONS on your BWV points, though!

They did offer them to current members before they opened it up to the general public. I got a phone message from my guide last May advising of the additional points available and the deadline before they would be released to the general public (I know it was May because I was at WDW and got the message at work when I returned).

As BWVDee noted, they have already sold those points. The points have been used for the past 9 months already- even with no inventory to support their utilization. Look like it will have been at least a full year before those villas are available for actual use and yet the points have already been available for use at BWV and all other DVC resorts.

That certainly is a departure from the way things have been done in the past. How can they justify using the points before adding them to the condominium? I thought that was connected to some sort of Florida law.

We took MB with our 200 March use year points at BWV. We bought in Sept. closed in Oct. and I'm pretty sure we were told that the reason they were available was because of the sales/showroom space being converted.

I'm so glad we have them, but I did wonder about the timing of our buying when there still was a sales center that we visited in November. We bought sight unseen, and I thought the sales office was being converted AS we were buying, but that wasn't the case.
