June 20-24, we're doing 3 at DL and 2 at DCA. This will be my wife and I's 4th time since our first visit in 2023. Can't stay away.

20 days, for a 3 day trip just me and my honey, no kids this trip

I love trips with just DH & I. We took our first trip to WDW sans kids over 25 years ago for our 10th anniversary. I didn’t feel guilty at all, because I knew we’d take the kids to DL soon and they didn’t know the difference— Disneyland was what they knew and they were happy with that. We went there with & without the kids more than a dozen times over the next 15 years.

Unfortunately, they were adults before we were able to return to WDW with 3/4 of them (#4 didn’t want to go), but it was great because then they got to go with their own families & we got to see their joy, and even better — we got to spoil our granddaughter rotten. (Literally… we each had to take a bit of her loot because they didn’t have enough room in their luggage for all of it. Luckily, we all live near each other)

Of course it’s awesome to see the excitement & wonder as the kiddos experience the magic… but there’s a lovely freedom when it’s just two adults, too. No worries about keeping some sort of schedule, or who needs a nap or making sure everyone had a fair chance to pick the next attraction. Or any of a million other kid-related concerns at the park. Being just the 2 of us, we can just go about with a very laissez-faire approach and there’s so little stress.

Besides, my own inner child pops right out anytime I’m at Disney. I can’t help it. My first trip back after the year+ pandemic closure, I *literally* bawled right there in the hub. Like straight-up snotty crying. DH looked at me and thought something was wrong… I said “I’m just so happy to be here… all the happy is just spilling out! ” Then he made some smartaleck comment about being careful not to make a mess on Mickey’s floor or something. I just gave him a little swat and told him to scrunch in, I wanted our selfie with the castle.


The exact dates of our next trip haven’t been nailed down, but it will be in September or October. So I’m going to say probably about 90-100 days or so. We’ll go for 4 or 5 days in-park, and a few extra days to do some other stuff too, like we’ll probably go to Magic Mountain. Maybe the LA Zoo or Catalina. We’ll have 8 days to do stuff, and we like to be flexible.

I’ll be adding a ticker in the next week or so once our plans have firmed up, and I’ll come back and edit the estimate above.
