How many months out for car rental?

We may be going to WDW in late Feb/March. We have in the past gotten mini vans for under $300 for a week all fees and taxes. The price quoated was about $200 but when everything is added it the real price is about $300.

Right now when looking they are over $400. When should I expect to start to see the prices drop and start looking at realistic pricing? I was thinking about 4 months out or so.

In my experience, 2 or 3 months out has yielded the best rates for rental vehicles. Note that you don't need to use a credit card or put down a deposit on most car rental revervations, so if you find a decent rate, book it. You can always cancel and rebook if a better rate comes along. (I've done this many times.)
