How many Miles + Money seats per flight ??

Does anyone have any idea how many Miles + Money seats are release per flight?

I spoke to the Flight club earlier today and was told that every flight has M+M seats available.

Iam looking to use up some of my Virgin points for next October and am weighing up whether or not to book say a Friday departure date knowing that there will be more chance of me getting M+M seats than say a Saturday or Sunday flight There are 6 of us in total so fear I may need the full flight allocation ?

I didn't know there was only a certain amount allocated for each flight. I just assumed that if you had miles, you'd be able to use them when you want.

I've been looking on the V-Flyer website and I'm getting the impression that in the current market ie BA strikes, MAN route been now only direct via Virgin that these seat releases are few and far between?

I'm now thinking I could possibly try for 2 free seats ie all miles and pay for the rest if I cant get 6 seats on M+M

Are you looking Economy or higher?

There are definitely allocations but they've always seemed quite generous when I've looked.

For example, I've been watching Virgin since January for 2 PE flights in September - flying out on a Thursday and returning on a Friday. They were available for M+M right from Gatwick up till about 3 weeks ago - iirc they did run out at one point for a couple of weeks then some more popped up.

Granted this is only for 2 people and not exactly peak time but it was also well within the 11 month window.

I'd say as long as you were ready to get them around when the booking window opens your chances would be very good.

It might not be very helpful...but

We bought 2 M&M seats out Economy, back PE back in May at our 11 month window. And more are still available now. But the price has risen a little.

Although we went through a 2-3 year period getting more or less what we wanted(with lots & lots of time searching) the past 2 years has been almost impossible to spend our miles in school hols. Only option this August was Heathrow~Miami route, nothing on MAN~MCO route, a few seats did become available recently but too late for us now already booked indirect.

From experience, I have always been able to book M+M seats any time of the yr, although one yr I didnt as the difference between
M+M and normal fare was £2..
Don't worry about it They release more seats for M+M than you think
we are looking for 9+ M+M seats for late September next yr

sorry for sounding dim but if going end august when would I need to look for m+m seats? Also people who book packages eg CO for say next october,how come those flights are out now?

You can book from end Sept this year for end Aug next year.
Only way to book now is thru a travel agent but you probably pay a premium to do so.

when i worked for Virgin atlantic i would tell people to get the choice of miles seats its best to book at the 11 month window as they can reduce the miles seats if the flight is selling well
