How many miles a day do you walk at DL/DCA?

Has anyone ever actually calculated this? How many miles the average visitor would walk on a full day between the two parks?

I don't know the average, but for me it's about 10 miles :scared1::scared1::scared1:

I should add, though, that includes walking from the hotel (on Harbor) to the parks and back as well.

I heard somewhere that the average guest walks 10-12 miles a day!

My pedometer is always close to 10 miles. I'm usually the FP runner. Plus we park hop too.

In addition to park hopping, my group will go back and forth in Disneyland. It wasn't until last time the kids figured out the train and monorail would save a few steps.

When their feet get tired now they don't mind a train ride.

We brought a pedometer for our trip in May and found that we were clocking 9-12 miles per day (park hopping + walking to, from our hotel on Disneyland Drive, just once each way..we weren't going back for a rest midday).

A lot. I don't have a pedometer, but I've worn my heart rate monitor a few times and burn MANY calories during my park time. And it's really interesting to watch the calories burned slow way down whoe in line, the speed up again during proper walking, etc.

At World I get between 10- 12 a day. I can't wait to see what Land adds to my Fitbit. I am guessing it will be the same...as we won't have a car and are staying at Annabella and will hoof it back and forth. :cool1:

I wore my FitBit when we were there last week. My low was 9 miles and my high was 11.5 miles.

Low last week was 9 miles, high was 16 (solo last day and went back to the room 3 times), averaged 11 miles over 5 days. I am the runner for FPs. I would imagine the rest in my party did about 3/4 the distances I did but I was the only one using a pedometer.

You know after living near DL most of my life, I never thought about how many miles you may have walked. These are allot of miles. Great question!

This is so interesting! I officially give myself permission to have churros for lunch at least once during our trip since I'll be burning so many calories anyway :thumbsup2

I'll be wearing my FitBit on my trip to DL in 2 weeks and will see how it compares to my WDW trip in October. My average in WDW was 12 miles, with my best day of 15.5 miles when we spent the entire day in Epcot gorging ourselves at Food and Wine. When we limped back to the resort at midnight, I was amazed to see that result!

Staying at BWPPI, I doubt I will come close to any of my WDW totals - but then again, I don't imagine I'll have to walk off as much food as I did at WDW.

When I brought my pedometer to WDW a few years back we walked around 12 miles each day. Although it was one of those pendulum pedometers that can be tricked by moving rides etc, so it may have been less.

Thanks for the reminder for me to throw my pedometer in my suitcase before we leave for DL in T-4 hours!!

From my trip last February:

Day 1:
29,191 steps
9.21 miles
1026 calories (good thing because the night before we ate at Napa Rose!)

Day 2:
21,562 steps
6.8 miles
753 calories

Day 3:
21,301 steps
6.72 miles
735 calories

Grand Totals:
72,054 steps
22.73 miles
2514 calories burned

We stayed off-site and drove in, so no walking back to the hotel from the parks.

Well, now I know how I could eat EVERYTHING, including about 10 chocolate bars from the Halloween party every night after the kids went to bed, and yet lose 5lbs over our two-week trip.

Those numbers seem a little off - on average 2000-2500 steps = 1 mile.
